Nestled off the beaten path in a Victorian house surrounded by 400 year-old oak trees, we are a local's favorite. Our seafood is brought in fresh daily, and we use locally grown ingredients. All the locals love our filet dishes as well as our large menu. All desserts are homemade. We are a family run restaurant with most of our staff having been with us for over 15 years. We do everything to make sure all of our customers leave happy.

Simply Charming!!!

This is a beautiful spot located away from the main tourist strip. It's a charming old house nestled among some oak trees. With wonderful small rooms, its a nice, intimate setting. The food and service are 5 stars all day long. Ingredients are fresh and everything is prepared well and presented beautifully. We were seated in a very small back room that had far too many tables for the small space and the noise level was ridiculous. We could not have a conversation at our table which was in the corner.... We have been going here for years. The menu is interesting and delicious. Nice for an elegant, but not extravagant meal. The servers are attentive. The noise level can get a little high. Those who would prefer not to deal with steps should request a main floor table when making reservations (and you should make reservations!) as the stairs are... More

For our final dinner at the beach, my wife and I wanted some place special for an elegant and intimate experience. The Colington Cafe was highly recommended by the locals and the reviews were great. We made reservations four days in advance. Upon arrival, we were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome by the hostesses. We were told there... More

This restaurant is my wife's favorite in the whole world. She has come here for decades with her late husband. This was only my second visit. Our family left the babies with a sitter to enjoy a variety of dishes ranging from chicken Marsala to fresh OBX seafood. Each of us enjoyed our meal. The desserts deserve a tasting. The... More

We had a date night and loved the beautiful setting of the restaurant. The Scallop and Shrimp Napoleon was very good, but the vegetable medley was disappointing. The desserts were very good. Our waitress was very poor and did not seem to know the menu. We asked for recommendations and she refused to provide any. Overall, it was a nice... More

Topflight food, staff and owner all make dining a wonderful experience. We had a tuna and surf and turf (swordfish and steak) all of which were terrific. Well worth the one mile drive off the main drag. A great restaurant in a beach community. Nice gift shop next door. Ample portions, wide range of desserts too. All reasonably price. Carlyn... More

What a friendly place! We had 4 adults and 2 kids(11&4). We celebrated our 4 year old's birthday. We were seated right away (we arrived around 6-6:30). Our waitress was great. Very friendly asked the chef to accommodate our picky eater, it wasn't a problem. Fresh tuna was great, shrimp was delicious. For dessert our waitress brought our 4 yr... More

My boyfriend and I celebrated our three year anniversary here a few years ago and still find this restaurant very nice! The food was good and dessert was super yummy. The staff there was very nice. Reservations are a good idea for this restaurant! Also have a very nice outside area to sit and wait for your table. Love love... More

We had the pleasure of dining at the Colington Cafe during our July trip to OBX. This was our first time dining at the restaurant and based on previous reviews I was anxiously awaiting my first visit. We were not disappointed. The food was yummy and the restaurant was very quaint. I was a little worried at first when we... More
