We have eaten here for the last two years on our way to our beach vacation. The food is exceptionally good and the service is outstanding. The grouper was excellent, and the steak and crab cake were exceptional. It is tucked away off the main highway but poses no problem. Make sure to make a reservation days or weeks in... More

Had our anniversary dinner at Colington Café last night. Probably our 7th or 8th visit over the years and as with every other visit the food and service were superb. The bacon wrapped scallops in a sweet BBQ sauce were fantastic. I have been hooked for some time on their 6oz. filet topped with a generous scoop of lump crabmeat... More

This is by far the best meal I've had while in OBX. I've been going to the outer banks for years and have some local favorites. This year we found Colington and will definitely put it on my list for annual visits. This is not your average beach restaurant. Yes, they have local seafood but this is much more of... More

We visited this restaurant in July 2014 based upon a recommendation from someone we met. Delicious food. Mixed grill consisting of grilled tuna and beef was delicious. My son had Filet Mignon which he said was the best he's ever had. Definitely worth trying. They have very reasonably priced bottles of wine too! We ordered a $16 bottle of Pinot... More

Cloth napkins is a hallmark for us. Delicious food. The she-crab bisque is something I dream about on cold, February nights in Missouri. We eat at least once a week when on the beach and have never been disappointed! Wonderful staff and cozy atmosphere. Favorites: scallops rumacki and the dijon beef medallions. The owners, Carlen and Ken, and their son... More

Lack of change can be a very good thing, especially when it means the continuation of a fine dining experience. Change can be a very good think when it means even more choices during that fine dining experience, and that's the situtation at Colington Cafe. We've been eating here at least once a year since they opened, and we've watched... More

My family and I visit every year for a special dinner during vacation. We've never had anything bad from there and while yes, it is more expensive, it's well worth it. The scallop appetizer is the go to and the filet is to die for.

We made reservations for this restaurant based on TripAdvisor reviews. My wife got the wahoo and I got the salmon and we shared. Both were excellent. We ended by sharing the lemon cake with locally grown blueberries. It was light and delicious. A very nice experience especially in a beach vacation area.

Our group that gathers annually in OBX has a top-three casual restaurants--places we take the kids. Colington is in a different and coveted category--adult night out. We love this evening and we love Colington Cafe. The wine list is long and interesting. Best, one can get an excellent bottle for a good price. For appetizers, you can't go wrong with... More

Dinners were good but not more than average and somewhat uneven with some things better than others. The restaurant is in a converted house so it has several small dining rooms. The decorations are a bit much & the place has a cluttered look. Best part of the meal was dessert - coconut custard pie on a chocolate crust. Does... More
