Our food was good, minus the piece of plastic found in our appetizer. The service was terrible. We waited a long time for everything, water, food, refills, check. The server did listen to the kids when they told him how they wanted their burgers.

My wife and I have been going to Goombay's since 1997. Most recently, we dined there twice during the week of September 7. Both meals were delicious. The first time, I had the tuna tacos (awesome), and my wife had the Tuna Oscar (awesome II). The second time, we each had the same meal--grilled swordfish topped with fresh salsa and... More

I stop for lunch & had the tile fish grilled. Very good, not over cooked, nice piece of fish. Served with a fresh salsa, it really hit the spot. Sat at the bar & the barkeep was very friendly & took care of his customers. In his spare time he was shucking fresh oysters. Menu looked good, I'm going back... More

The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Wouldn't go back. Waitress was excellent, but the meal seemed expensive. Didn't seem like you got good bang for your buck...

I have been here about 6 times in the past year after not eating there in years. The consistency suffers here in my opinion. One meal can be great and another average, never bad. I have found you are way better off to order from the specials menu than off the regular menu. I have not tried a burger here,... More

Everyone is very friendly yet professional. The food is unique and very tasty. The drinks are well made. It's hard to do but they manage to be a family restaurant AND an adult handout and do it very well. Will return again soon.

The tuna oscar was excellent! It was one of the best meals I've ever had. My husband got the NY strip which he said was great. We don't usually order desert but we got the frozen peanutbutter pie which was amazing. We enjoyed the atmosphere which was small, beachy, cozy, and upbeat. Our waitress was friendly and professional. We will... More

Everything we order has been delicious. The service is excellent. Kid friendly and a laid back atmosphere. One of our favorite places to eat when we go to the Outer Banks!

Food was really good and affordable. Kids cocktails are a hit. We hate on two occasions for lunch and both times we had great and quick service.

I have no idea why this isn't in the top 5! We ate here the evening after eating at kill devils frozen custard, and this was sooo much better! We had the jazzy chicken, the pecan crusted grouper, and a kids popcorn shrimp. It was delicious! We had no leftovers! The fries were much better than the ones from kill... More
