My husband and I two days in a row. They have all of the breakfast staples, good service from a pleasant staff. Really good hash browns, I never eat them ... these were really good. Nice thin hotcakes and good sausage. It's a good breakfast and worth the stop.

The service was HORRIBLE! I always liked this restaurant when my family came to the outer banks when I was growing up, so I wanted to bring my wife on our first year anniversary. She does not like eggs, so she wanted to order "the Ship's Mast" (2 eggs, hash browns, and hotcakes for $5.99), with sausage instead of eggs.... More

We were walking distance and our Property Management Company recommended them. Food is good, service is even better and they have a good selection of food to order.

My family ate here for breakfast on a Friday morning, no wait at all for a table. We all got french toast and it was very good. The hashbrowns were great, which i appreciate! It is a casual place, and the servers were very friendly. decorated with a sea theme. The atmosphere and food are nothing fancy, but it is... More

In all fairness, I should have sent the food back and given them a second chance but we were in a hurry to get on the road to our next stop. The food was probably delicious, 10 minutes before we were served. When I looked st it, it didn't even look like hot, fresh food, then I tasted it...UGH! I... More

Went for breakfast on the beach. Had a 5 minute wait which was nothing. Ordered and had quite a wait for our food to arrive. Everything was as ordered. The pancakes are awesome. Enjoyed everything. Hubby had the country ham and grits with his eggs. He said all was very good. We will add this place to our must do... More

We were blessed with great weather for our Outer Banks vacation, so we were in good spirits to begin with. Our visit to Ship's Wheel just upped the ante. Starting with very pleasant employees, we were treated to a breakfast that will be remembered above all other breakfasts. The hotcakes are huge! They're in the shape of a ship's wheel... More

This is the place to go for a kitchen full of food or food piled high. I defy you to find a larger-sized hotcake in the Outer Banks. We started coming here for the 99 cent breakfast and we're still coming back 25 years later. We do miss the 99 cent breakfast though.

This is a small locally owned restaurant that serves only breakfast. We had the best food I have ever had for breakfast anywhere and the service was exceptional. Corey is very nice and the perfect gentleman. Lori is very outgoing and friendly and thoroughly enjoys what she does. I will certainly be eating at the Ship's Wheel every time I... More

Our first breakfast in the Outer Banks. Staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. My husband had a "ship's galley" which had hash browns, eggs, sausage and pancakes. The pancakes were 8 inches in diameter! I order the Mexican omelet which had jalapenos and green peppers, tomatoes and cheese. Coffee was also very good. We were pleasantly surprised... More
