Great lunch spot

Every summer we make a point with friends to grab lunch at The Pit Boardriders Grill. The prices are very reasonable and the portions of food are great. I also enjoy the chill laid back surf atmosphere of the place with great beach tunes in the background. Having traveled to Costa Rica... read more

We stopped at the Pit because they were serving Shave Ice, something quite popular in Hawaii. It was worth the stop. The Shave Ice was delicious! Truly it is crushed ice with a flavor that you choose from (More than 20 choices!). They were also serving restaurant food, but at that time we weren't hungry yet.

This comes up as a grill but it isn't at all... Apparently this ice cream shop was a grill "a long time ago" but that didn't help me on the quest for dinner with 3 boys 😀! The ice cream did look great though lol

Have been here MANY times and NEVER been disappointed. Tuesday's dollar tacos are a fabulous deal but we had them tonight...AWESOME! The veggie quesadillas and the chicken strips were also a great selection. There have been many changes in personnel but we were more than pleased with our service tonight with Ryan! Way to go "PIT"!

Stopped in for lunch to see how this place has change over the past 20 years. Wow. The restaurant - Boardrider's Grill - is separate from The Pit Surfshop. Service was friendly and we sat outside. Fun decor inside. All the food we ordered was really good, and had very large portions. I loved the Rasta Wrap (jerked chicken) but... More

What else could you need? Oh-- how about fun beer choices and a great diverse menu. Everytime I go to OBX I go to the Pit. Allow a few extra minutes because they have a small kitchen.

The food & menu was awesome! Small space, not good for bigger parties. I felt bad for the One waitress on duty during a rainy afternoon. Great atmosphere, awesome food & music if you are not in a hurry!

We stopped here on a Wednesday night. One waitress and a Spicoli looking guy bussing tables were working. I saw the crab meat pizza on the menu here on Trip Advisor and thought it looked good. It is not currently on the menu in the restaurant. Service was slow, there was only one waitress working. The place bills itself as... More

We are so sorry your experience was less than stellar. "Spicoli" did not work out as an employee, and you will not see him again if you choose to give us another chance to impress you! And while we do have fresh parmesan (for Caesar salads and Caesar wraps), adding some in a shaker is a great idea. Thank you... More

Been to this place about 8 times now. Good atmosphere and good beers. Very laid back and a lot of locals. Taco Tuesday is always fantastic. If you go around main dinner time of course its going to be packed. We were there about 5 or 6 and it was pretty packed but the service was not bad, actually for... More

We have been to the Pit surf shop countless times on trips to the OBX and decided to take the crew there on taco night mid week, great choice! Value priced tacos mid week to feed our group of about 12. We went back on a different day and discovered the wraps, they are huge and delicious. The S turns... More
