Good ole country cookin'!

This is true country cooking, home style food. We had the Sunday buffet. Pot Roast was excellent! Chicken N Dumplings, Fried Chicken and many vegetables to choose from on the buffet. Host and waitresses were very friendly. Overall good experience for us.

We tried out this place after hearing about it from neighbors. It was our first and last trip. The place is FILTHY and the food is just OK. The fried chicken was good, but super greasy...the same for the hushpuppies. The potato salad was inedible and runny!! It also had a weird nutmeg flavor and was 50% sweet relish! The... More

Unless you like your food as salty as a gallon of salt water, so salty that it is uneatable, along with raw veggies in your omlette, and a building that should be condimned for being nasty and having mold infested bathrooms with water damage and cracking walls, stay away from this hell hole, Wait, mit should not be called a hell... This is real, old fashioned Southern food - nothing nouvelle about it. The fried chicken is the bomb and everything else is great. The veggies are well-cooked and the greens are definitely cooked with pork. We love to take a large crew. We've taken folks from France, Finland and all over the US - everybody loves it! There are few... More

Only then might this qualify as "Good Ol' Home Cooking". Worst place ever- jail food might be worse, but that would be cruel and unusual punishment. The owner was delusional when she told us we didn't know what we were talking about. Cold, nasty bleeck. We left after a couple of bites. How can you mess up mac n cheese... More

Buffet food was cold, greasy and overcooked. The prices are inexpensive, but my experience wasn't worth the 10 dollars for the dinner buffet. No one in my party could not find even one food that was good enough to be worth mentioning. Some of them were "almost" good, but not so...for example, the clam chowder had good flavor but the... This is a sleeper. If not a local you wouldn't find it but it is worth the search. Down home southern cooking buffet with fried chicken, pulled pork, country style steak, etc.. Even have seafood Friday. Each day of the week is a little different theme but all are great. They even have fatback. I have never taken anyone there... More

We were going to Hillsborough and I asked the man who we were doing business with, where we should eat while in town, and this diner was his answer. He said The Village Diner has been around for decades. It's nothing fancy, booths and tables in the main room, with a big side room where a lunch meeting was being... More
