it was average, but costly for what it was

Kind of a yuppie BBQ place, not your standard eastern NC BBQ house. For $10 I got full but not stuffed from lunch. They had run out of many sides by 1pm.

Just parking across the street from this Hillsborough BBQ Company gets your nose and taste buds started. The restaurant actually reminds me of a down-home country midwest restaurant located in the farmlands of Wisconsin, but the pulled BBQ and collards are the best. They have different kinds of sauces to add to the BBQ or just eat it plain. It's... More

I read about this place at an online NC travel magazine that said every town should want one of these... Well, it is really nice as far as decor and atmosphere - for a bbq place but we won't impressed with the food. I had smoked turkey breast, which is served sliced and either had been cooked for sometime or... More

We go at least monthly, most months several times. We can sit outside with our dog & they always bring him a hip bone & water. We have eaten our way thru the menu: I love the ribs, my husband, the brisket. We've taken all our friends & family & they have all wanted to eat here again when they... More

We were on our way back from DPAC and wanted something to eat. We stopped here and had good pork BBQ. If you stick to the basics, it is reasonably priced. If memory serves me, the 1/4 pounds of BBQ with slaw and one side plus hushpuppies was $8.99. You can sub out the slaw for a little over a... More

Ate there on a recent trip to see some family that lives in the Raleigh Durham area. The food was delicious and plentiful. A good test for me is whether the locals eat there and surely they do in droves. The place was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon. The hushpuppies and catfish bites are not food that I can... More

Well, 3 kinds of slaw and none as good as at the Barbecue Joint in Chapel Hill where The Pig is now. Boring hush puppies just like at Allen & Son don't come close to the great hot hpups at The Flying Burrito. It's not that's it's bad here, just not a standout. Makes me long for The Barbecue Joint... Service is fast and Accurate. Turkey is flavorful and juicy. Slaw choices are great, but we all preferred red slaw. Collards are out of this world. Good flavor, texture and color

The bbq is never fatty, the brisket is perfectly spiced and tender. I used to think Allen and sons was the best bbq around until they opened up. Now they have them beat for sure. Unique mixed drinks and the sides are good too. I can tell they are constantly trying to make things even better which is nice to... More

Good food,...fun environment. Portion sizes for non-BBQ items not big for the price. BBQ is pretty good for eastern NC. Doesn't compare to Shelby/Lexington, NC restaurants. Still worth a visit in Triangle area... .beats Allen&Sons and Bullocks.
