My wife and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at "On the Veranda" Saturday night. The service was excellent, the food suburb and the atmosphere refreshing. My strip steak was perfectly prepared and my wife's Scallops on Angel hair pasta had a unique and delightful flavor. Our server was Allan and we will ask for him again on our next visit.

We had heard wonderful things about On the Veranda and our experience last week met all of our expectations - and more! We decided to eat at the bar and the bartender, Lexi, made it a night to remember. The wine selection was excellent and Lexi had some great suggestions. Although the nightly specials looked wonderful, we could not resist... More

Compared to other choices in Highlands area, this was not up to standard. Service was above average and the food was good, however, the eating area was shabby. The lake view was very good, if you ignored the dirty screens and flies. Dessert was lousy (heavy, undercooked crust on a fruit pie), but the salad, soup and main course were... More

Great food for our party of 4. Service was very attentive with all of the staff helping each other were needed. Something other establishments could learn from. We each had a different main course and we all loved the food. Going back for dinner next time I'm in Highlands. And a phenomenal wine list.

A must-do for special occasions...we ate here on our visit to Highlands for our 20th wedding anniversary. My husband and I have been coming to Highlands for 15 years and always look forward to dining here on anniversary trips. We especially enjoy eating on the verandah overlooking the lake...very restful, especially with a great wine. The food is always superb... More

I made reservations for 4 with a view of the water. We were greeted by our hostess who escorted us to a table with a view of Lake Sequoyah and the band area. Our waiter was personable and made great suggestions for supper. I had the fresh broiled trout, pecan butter which was the best meal in our week in... More

Our waitress Janelle was lovely and made up greatly for a very poor reception. Of the 6 of us there were two nearly inedible trout dishes with stale pecans and a strange and strong wine sauce. The pork chop was tough. However the filet was delicious. With many choices I would go almost any where else

My husband treated me to a very special Sunday brunch at this beautiful lakeside restaurant. We had reserved a seat on the veranda earlier in the week and were delighted to find out how lovely the view was. A hummingbird feeder was located right next to the table and it was fun to watch the birds feeding as we ate.... More

While Madisons was a touch more elegant in atmosphere and service. The food and value here well make up for it. We went for Sunday brunch. It was a gorgeous day and we sat outside with a spectacular view. Brunch comes with mimosa or kir royale, soup, salad bar and entrée. Every single item of food was delish! My husband... More

This was our 1st time at this establishment. Our party of 6 arrived Sunday at 11 am. There were only 2 cars in the lot. Upon entering the restaurant, there were 3-4 tables occupied. You can sit inside or outside on the deck. We chose inside. It did fill up around 11:45 am. The Sunday Brunch is $26 which includes... More
