Everything about this dining experience was perfect! I loved that it was a quiet atmosphere! I loathe loud restaurants and can not understand why so many blare music. Rustico's had no music and it was delightful to enjoy a meal and have conversation without the competition of excessive noise and music! We enjoyed a martini, appetizer, wine , pasta, and... More

Log cabin is quaint but there is a porch and outdoor patio when you make a reservation. Outdoor patio was perfect on a July early evening. Food is fabulous, wine is wonderful and tiramisu perfection. Veal bolognese was beyond expectations! A must on your list!

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner here in July. They bring you bread with an ollive oil dipping sauce, very strong garlic taste. We also ordered the dates stuffed with cheese and wrapped in proscuitto, very different and delicious. For dinner we shared a meal of crabmeat and pasta, more than enough for two but be aware they... The manger called to apologize after we indicated our disappointment with service in a note at bottom of our bill. We appreciated this and will try again. Looking forward to exploring some new pasta dishes.

When we first visited Rustico it had opened recently and showed promise. We were impressed with the attitude displayed by the staff and the quality of the food for a new establishment. We went back recently with a party of five and the entire evening was a disaster. Two of our party ordered braised scallops and were served veal scallopini.... More

We were off to a rather uneven start at this restaurant. Three different watipersons stopped by our table to advise of the daily specials--butter than not being told, I am sure. Then, we were somewhat put off by the notice on the menu that appetizers could not be ordered as main courses, something we occasionally do. Three persons ordered initial... More

We ate at Rustico on our last night in Highlands. We had trouble getting a last minute reservation at several other places and chose Rustico after checking Trip Advisor. (so glad we did!) It is a very quaint log cabin down a small gravel drive. There were two dining areas that we saw, one in the main area which was... More

This place is perfect! We usually eat at the Veranda when we are in Highlands but stepped out of the box and decided to try Rustico. Picture a log cabin with beautiful flowers growing and natural landscape. Once inside the magic continues with exposed logs for walls and floors. We were seated on the deck a great place to breathe... More

We have enjoyed Rustico many times since they opened in Highlands in 2012. Great food, great service, and a very nice setting.
