Ate here at the end of their season and I had the best pasta that I have ever put in my mouth at this establishment. The server was fantastic and on his toes the entire time. Love the rustic look and how charming the place is....the asparagus is the best!

We tried out Rustico because it was right up the hill from our lodge. And we were not disappointed! Charming cabin and an outstanding Italian meal! Excellent wine selection, the best Minestrone we've ever had, delicious salads (try the Insulate di Rucola and insulate di Barbabietole), and nice main choices (we had the stuffed chicken and the salmon). The Tiramisu... More

Great cocktails and wine list, great food presented nicely and friendly service. Italian style menu. Prices are reasonable. Will definitely go back.

Charming log cabin but charmless service - nobody bothered to light the candles or fire and our server seemed harried. Pear salad and bread with olive oil were very good but pasta dishes were just fair and took 45 minutes to deliver. There was a speaker over our table with music that was irritating. Too bad because with a little... More

We had dinner on Sunday night and almost everything was outstanding. There were four of us and we all agreed our meals were top notch. Of the four of us there were three different selections. One was a pasta selection, one was chicken, and two were veal. All looked very good and everyone really liked their dish. Service was good,... More

A casual Italian restaurant hidden away in a century old log cabin just off main street of this wonderful, little mountain town with tons of good places to eat. Dinner only but really good food, generous cocktails and an acceptable wine list.

This place is very cute and was the perfect spot to spend my mid October birthday. The service was laid back and we were given time to peruse the menu before the server wanted the order. We were not rushed through the meal and we appreciated that. A woman worked in conjunction with the server and she was not intrusive... More

I eat here at least once during every visit to Highlands and have never been disappointed. Dining with my husband, girlfriends or family. Service is always friendly and timely but you don't feel rushed to turn over your table. The drinks and wine selections are extensive. The menu can change so be flexible. Dessert menu too. I enjoyed the asparagus... More

Here for the 2nd time. Food was worth every penny_ service was off this night. Service had been as excellent as the food at last visit, so maybe short wait staff. Our table had the delicious white bean soup, the trout, scallops, veal scaloppini and the bolognese.

Had dinner with friends Friday night and food was very good, with very attentive service. Like the atmosphere on the enclosed porch. They did a very good veal ragu with tagliatelle, and my wife enjoyed the sea bass, which was a different take on the usual. Put it on your list if you are visiting Highlands, NC.
