The Ugly Dog is one of the two bars on the "Highlands Pub Crawl"! They have done a great job of keeping the place competitive, with good service, great beer selections, food, and occasionally some pretty good music! It is the Pub to be at, after a long day hiking around!

Went with friends on a Monday evening. I'd driven past a few times but didn't feel like fighting the dense crowds I'd seen. For better or worse, last Monday was far from packed. We weren't greeted, so we made our way to an alcove with comfy bench seating. The first server we encountered was clearly stressed and looked at us... More

A fun place to meet, greet and eat... oh and of course have a pint or two. They have great bands on Wednesday and Saturday nights. It is loved by all visitors and locals alike.

We did not eat at the Ugly Dog so we can't say anything about the food. However, we had an absolute ball at the Wednesday night Blue Grass party complete with locals doing the Mountain Clog.

I recommend The Ugly Dog Pug for great sandwiches and a great bar. My last visit on 7-21-14 was not up to par. Two of us stopped in after work at 6:30 to have Cuban sandwiches and a beer. We sat at the bar as the tables we all taken. The tall, dark haired young man behind the bar approached... More

The Ugly Dog has great atmosphere, choice/rotation in draft beers, and generally great service. The prices are a bit high though...however it is Highlands. We stopped by for a couple beers around 5pm on a Thursday and it was fairly calm inside, sat at the bar. Tab was $23 for four Sweetwater brews! Yikes! We didn't eat there this time,... More

The pub has a great atmosphere, and is a perfect place to grab a beer. It has a great pub feel to it, so don't misconceive that it is a bar. I didn't eat there, so no comments on the food. Service is great, people are friendly, and the beer selection is all craft.

Super bar with lots to do…We had a wedding party after party there and it was so much fun. The selection of beers is good and all premium well drinks were available. And they even knew my name. ;)

This third (get it?) visit to this fun, very tasty pub was every bit as good as the first two. It was more crowded than we'd ever seen it but we were able to get three spots at the bar. (Come to think of it, the same exact spots we've had on each previous visit.) Nothing suffered because of the... More

Fabulous service, attentive and available. Greek salad large and fresh with excellent dressing, great local brews on tap, ask for samples. My husband had the Hickory Tri-tip and it's was huge and delicious with hand cut seasons fries. Very reasonably priced meal in a high end market. Will be back!
