I ordered the Sunburst Mountain Trout Salad, as it seemed an interesting way to serve trout. Being in the mountains, and in a nice restaurant, I expected a local, or at least regional trout. Instead it was Kokanee, which during spawning has the texture of, and tastes similar to, salmon. Kokanee is a Western trout, and it arrived on my... More

We ordered fried green tomatoes and fried pimento cheese fritters for appetizers. Now I love f.g.tomatoes, but like our server said, the f.p.c.fritters were off the charts. Our apps came fast but our food took about 20 minutes. My mom got soup, my dad and brother got burgers, and i got f.g.tomatoes. Even though it was rainy outside and a... More

The restaurant is very outdoorsy and exposed. If there is any wind it can be chilly. Even in mid-July I needed a jacket at lunchtime. There were lots of other diners with big plates of food. I found my food to be perfectly adequate, not wonderful but not bad either. The service was friendly but very slow.

We stopped here while strolling downtown with our Golden Retriever. I happened to notice a couple go in with their dog, so we followed. We were quickly seated at a nice outdoor table, where the hostess also delivered a bowl of water for our dog. Nice wine list, service was slow. They were a bit busy but it was two... More

Food was okay but service was TERRIBLE! Waiter was very blasé and SLOW! Waited far too long for service and food and would not go back because of this. The owners dog, Jordan, was far more attentive and personable.

We sat at one of their stone tables with the little fire pit that ran down the center of the table, which was welcome since it was unseasonably cool. All seating is outside, tables scattered under terraced trees and overlooking the main street in quaint, downtown Highlands. Turkey/Apple/Brie on ciabatta had a thick slice of turkey breast meat, not deli... More

Stopped by for lunch. We shared a pear salad (very good), fried green tomatoes (excellent crust/fry, not much taste to the tomatoes), wings (superb) and roasted red pepper/Gouda soup (rich & divine). Topped off with flourless choc cake (one of the best) We'll be back!

The Bistro is inside a quaint bed and breakfast on Main Street. Prices are reasonable, and theropod is excellent. Menu choices are on the lighter side. If you are liking for a gourmet, four course meal, don't go here. However, if you seek a lovely environment with comfort food such as Shepard's Pie or a unique sandwhich, I highly recommend... More

We had dinner here on the outdoor patio area. Great view and we had a great shrimp dinner with drinks. The outdoor area is pet friendly so we were able to bring our dog along. Indoors was very nice clean Inn with seating to eat inside if you don't won't to eat outdoors.

We had a lively lunch, great soup, salads. The resident corgi wondered around looking for pats on the head. A nice relaxing meal.
