Description: Ruka's Table embodies the spirit of Highlands with a casual but elegant atmosphere, excellent food and service, and a commitment to quality that we believe is unequaled. We buy as much local produce as possible to sustain our farming communities. Ruka's menu is an array of specials, salads, soups, appetizers, entrees, and desserts that are 100% house made from the finest quality ingredients that we can purchase. Our steaks are local, dry aged, hormone free meats of the highest grade. Our menu has a variety of seafood and poultry dishes and includes daily specials and our take on southern specialties. Ruka's features a beautiful, copper topped, full service bar that offers full menu dining and a huge assortment of craft beer, specialty cocktails, and a fantastic wine list. The bar is flanked by a large stone fireplace, and is situated under a 30 foot, beamed, cathedral ceiling.

Ruka's is one of the best restaurants in Highlands. The chef, Justin, trained under Stephen Satterfield of Miller-Union in Atlanta. If you're interested in the origin and quality of the ingredients, this is your kind of place. We love to order fried oysters and a bottle of champagne at the bar. Last Saturday, we had oysters, sweetbreads, trout and something... More

Truly delightful dining experience. Wonderful ambience, excellent service, great music. But the true delight was the food! Fresh, beautifully plated, and so delicious. Everything was top notch. Can't wait to go back! This is better than the best restaurants in New Orleans.

You can get ordinary meals in the Highlands, especially from those restaurants that are rated much higher than Ruka's Table. If you want to experience culinary talent at its best, do yourself a favor and try Justin Burdett's cooking. He has definitely raised the bar for fine dining. He has a light touch with his salads. The sweetbreads and kimchee... More

My husband and I think of Ruka's Table as out own special getaway. We honeymooned in Highlands and now have 5 kids that we take with us most everywhere we go. We save this special little place just for us. It has atmosphere, ambiance, great staff and wonderful food. We found Ruka's sort of by mistake, intending to eat at... More

Generally unmemorable. Food is average, service is average, Staff not particularly friendly or engaging. Definately not worth a return trip.

We had a wonderful meal at Ruka's Table. The rib-eye was one of the best we have ever tasted. They feature Brasstown beef and it was well prepared. Also, excellent oysters on the half shell. The whole meal was really done well. And the service was attentive, cordial and well informed. Excellent value.

We hosted the rehearsal dinner for our son and future daughter-in-law at Ruka's and heard rave reviews about the meals everyone enjoyed throughout the wedding weekend. Justin Burdett is a creative, passionate chef and he turns out wonderful entrees. The menu changes frequently, so try Ruka's when something you love or have long wanted to try is on the menu.... I've vacationed in Highlands, N.C. every year -- and sometimes twice a year -- for the past several. Each time, I marvel at the number of top-notch restaurants in the tiny mountain town. On this visit, I just noticed that the justifiably famous Chef John Fleer (formerly of Blackberry Farm!) has set up shop nearby. The Highlands/Cashiers area offers an... More
