My wife and I went to dinner at Southern Roots and were very satisfied with the dining experience. The food was really good and the atmosphere was great for our date night. This restaurant does not accept reservations and it is popular so be prepared to grab a drink at the bar and enjoy. We will be back again, it's... More

I am a huge fan of Southern Roots and their delicious food. Think traditional Southern food with a twist using fresh, local ingredients. The sandwiches, shrimp and grits, vegetables/sides, stuffed chicken and outstanding desserts are just a few of the reasons we dine here as often as we can. The restaurant is small and loud, so be prepared! Wait times... More

What a fun night we had here last night...my husband had the filet, spinach and garlic potatoes and I had the shrimp and grits...all was delicious (however, there were way too few shrimp in my entree - I think only 4 - and I was spooning around looking for more...nada!). The atmosphere is not elegant, but it is great fun... More

Have been wanting to dine at Southern Roots for some time. We were not disappointed. The food is very, very good. We had the fried green tomatoes, the sesame tuna with stir-fried veggies and the seared scallops with with ginger carrot salad and cheese grits. All were tasty and well prepared. The space is attractive and casual but crowded. Service... More

It's a great place to go on a date or with friends, very small and usually very crowded because the food and drinks are great. Be aware of parking do not park on the Wells Fargo parking lot they will tow your car this happen at night to my friend one night even though the bank was closed

They have a unique menu. My wife and I had lunch there today. She had the Billy Bob Sandwich, which was pimento cheese made with Gouda Cheese, fried green tomatoes, smoked bacon and chicken on sour dough bread with a side of sweet potato fries. I had the shrimp BLT. This had shrimp, fried green tomatoes, apple wood smoked bacon... More

Great Food, updarted and unexpected twists on southern recipes. Very attentive staff. Acoustic are not good, can get very loud when busy. It's worth putting up with the noise because the food is soooooo good.

We made reservations early. The place was packed! Great menu with steak and seafood options. We sat outside under heaters and it was totally comfortable. Well worth the wait.

Thanks TA once again! This place looks very nondescript from the outside but inside the atmosphere is warm and lively. Our waitress Morgan was terrific! My husbands pulled pork was excellent as was my meatloaf- some of best we have ever had. And the peanut butter mousse dessert was great too! Park in the back and get there early unless... More
