Great food, casual atmosphere and friendly staff. What more are you looking for? This place has it all. Live music most nights give it the feel of a great dinner club.

Frequent Southern Roots every time in visit Greensboro. I've eaten there approximately 15 times. Thoroughly enjoy the outside firepit and dancing to a three piece band on a Saturday night. Very noisy inside because of the small dining area. Food consistently good. Great bar area for a singles crowd. Jamestown's little secret gem.

Southern Roots is wonderful. They are always busy but the wait is worth it. Great burgers for the carnivore. Fantastic salads for the herbivore and omnivores alike. Fabulous fried green tomatoes and the smoked gouda pimento cheese is unrivaled anywhere. It is a great place to meet friends and enjoy a great meal. Outside seating is lovely when weather is... Truly one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed! There is quite a wait because this isn't a very large establishment and the food and drinks are amazing! They have unusual takes on southern classics that are very surprising and enjoyable at the same time. Will be my fist stop on my next visit to the area!

While visiting a local university we asked for a recommendation and this was the unanimous choice. Menu offers Southern staples but often with a creative twist. Nothing fancy, just good food.

We moved back to area 6 months ago and have already eaten here 3 times. The food is always and the staff great. It is small and fills up quickly. So be sure to go early or grab a drink and plan on a wait. Especially on the weekends. My favorite is the stuffed chicken breast and the meatloaf.

We heard friends mention this place, thought we would try it out for my wife's birthday. Very disappointed-ordered stuffed chicken breast (turned out to be airline type with small breast & a wing attached) that was over cooked; wife had fish with appeared to have tomato sauce on top; small veggie side serving, for pricey menu. Very high noise level,... More

My daughter called saying she was in Greensboro on business. We live in Charlotte so I quickly jumped on TripAdvisor and based on reviews we met at Southern Roots. We got there early...about 5:30 and did not have any of the parking issues mentioned in other reviews. The lot is small so I am sure this is an issue on... More

One of our family favorites in the Piedmont area of North Carolina. Menu includes the not to be missed quesadilla appetizer, wonderful stuffed chicken, scrumptious flat iron steak, and fresh seafood. Desserts are......well, sinfully good. If weather permits, enjoy your meal on the patio with live music when available.
