Pricey dishes, amateur chefs

I went with my husband for dinner on Valentine's Day, because we ate here on our very first V-Day (13 years ago). Beautiful atmosphere, great seating and music...but the food was not up to par. The oyster appetizer was gritty with sand, and the lettuce in my salad entree was wilted and sad. Crab... read more

The service was excellent. The steak, port, and fish special were worth the trip. The prime rib did not meet expectations.

I researched steak houses before I moved here. This looked like my ideal place. I showed up and sat at the bar alone. Katie the bartender was amazing! The Bourbon Street Filet was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I ordered it medium rare, because I know that there is no temperature 'between rare and medium rare'. I am usually happy with... More

Promptly seated (had reservation) for our Valentines dinner. Decided to order something other than steak.......big mistake! Dish was cold and bland. Our server was nice and check with us frequently. Live music was great.

I was warmly welcomed and then seated promptly at the restaurant. The server was nice the entire time but I think she was more in tune with the people in front of me. I ordered a chicken pasta dish that said it was spicy. Bread came out first, and it was cold and dark dark brown. I tried to eat... More

Cachediva As most all independent restaurant operators do, we take our reviews very seriously and strive to improve in any area of concern. While there were a few questionable comments, what jumped out to me first was your comments on our "house salad dressing" and that you do not like creamy Italian dressing. We have never in our 16 years... More

Ate here tonight before going to see Peter Yarrow. I had the prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes and corn and crab bisque. My wife had the sirloin with asparagus and house salad. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. Best prime rib I've ever had. The waitress was good. The only thing keeping this from getting a 5... More

On the 14th of February 2015, my husband and I were displaced, upset, and disgruntled for our Valentines dinner. This reservation was made 3 weeks in advance with seating details included. Upon arrival we were treated unfairly, placed in seating by a pole in heavy traffic. Our reservation and included details were discarded. The management team did a terrible job... More

Dear Jamila We are very sorry you were displeased with the seating arrangement available on Valentine's Night. While we do our best to accommodate special requests, on the highest volume special night of the year, it is impossible to offer every guest their exact choice of seating. The table you declined was in close proximity to the live music (as... More

I have been to Steak Street many times. The food is consistently good and the service attentive. I typically eat alone so most always at bar or on the patio. I wish they would bring back the steaktini! Overall a very good place to go. One of my favorites is the house salad and the low country duo. Would recommend.

This was my first time at this restaurant, I'm a seasoned road warrior and the restaurant was recommended by my hotel. I ate at the bar as is my usual habit with a business associate of mine and the food was good but not worth the prices charged. My associate ordered the nightly special which was char with a topping... More

My husband and I have always thought of Steak Street as a pricey but well worth it night out dinner. But when we went last week, well... we were disappointed. First of all I had bought Groupons for Steak Street many times before, printed them out and took them with us; no problem. But this last time Groupon had a... More
