Nice "go to" for goooood Japanese food

My second visit to Sake's with my granddaughter who just graduated from High Point University. It appeared clean with an accomodating staff. The owner recognizes and acknowledges the students; takes pictures and places them on the restaurant walls. The food is quite good. both times we took a... read more

This is Highpoint's best kept secret! I am appalled it was so far down the TripAdvisor list! I have frequented this place for the last 5 years and it is one of my top 5 restaurants! I do not go to this restaurant for the ambience, I continue to go for the truly AMAZING sushi!!! No one else compares! I... More

I come from a surprisingly more culturally diverse area where the hibachi is top-notch. This hibachi was mediocre in comparison. My boyfriend ordered strip steak and chicken and I ordered strip steak and shrimp. I got my correct meal, but my boyfriend received chicken and shrimp. It wasn't a big deal but also not what he oredered. When we tried... More

Sake is easily one of the best places for sushi in NC. Dishes are delicious, big, the service is quick and friendly. Ambiance leaves a bit to desire as it seem like one of the family dining places with cheap furniture and ok ambiance. But once the food arrives everything is forgotten, taste buds get in gear and the feast... More

Sushi was phenomenal and service was very friendly and attentive. Food was fresh and tasty. Will return for sure. Flaming Shrimp was the best I have ever had anywhere. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My wife and I went for our first time, and even though it was pretty much empty (Thursday night around 7 pm), it was very clean the food was great. We ordered a miso soup, a couple different selections of sushi, and a few rolls. Are we very good. Not the best we ever had, but certainly above average, and... More

We come to town once or twice a year for business, and when our day's end late we like to end up here at Sake. Honestly, the place is nothing special. But in this neck of the woods, finding some decent sushi is honestly a huge surprise. Stick to the sushi while you're here. I've read other reviews where people... More

Today's dinner at Sake was very disappointing. While the sushi was delicious, my main course of NY Strip was completely overcooked and very dry when I specifically ordered medium rare. When I made this aware to the waiter, he simply said, "oh sorry" and walked away. I left the steak on the plate at the end of my meal and... More

Based on the Trip Advisor reviews, my husband and I decided to try this place. I am happy to report we were not disappointed. Since we like to try a variety of food, we pretty much ordered various appetizers. Our meal included a bowl of miso and the house soup, spicy calamari which included 2 tasty sauces, the soft shell... Before my retirement, I traveled to Japan several times on business where I learned to enjoy the food. As far as I can tell the "rolls" are authentic, as is the misso soup. We like to go for lunch before the college crowd arrives. I really like the variety of the lunch boxes and recommend them as well.
