Enjoyed the Olde Hickory Tap Room. It is a fun place to eat. The food is decent and the wait staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the decor. It is right in Union Square which is an added bonus. We had lunch so there was no entertainment. We had teenagers with us and they really liked it.

okay, found this place while here on business and let me say, I am glad I did! The Buffalo Bill sandwich was the perfect blend of spice and flavor. The pub chips? Very tasty. Be sure to get them with the house made beer cheese. You will not be disappointed! If it wasn't the middleof the day I would have... More

What a nice restaurant, delicious food, very fast service with friendly attitudes. This was recommended to us as we were just visiting Hickory for one day, and we are so glad to have been directed to the Olde Hickory Tavern. We definately will stop there again.

I visited on a business trip and was very pleased with all aspects of the visit. I had a pizza...which was very good. The IPA was excellent. Ample free parking, friendly bartenders, mug club and the farmers market was going on (Thursday night). If you are a fan of brewpubs, this is a must do in Hickory.

Stopped by in the middle of the day. Had a delightful lunch, which included a great black bean burger. This pub did a good job, give it a try.

My wife and I ate dinner here while visiting. She had the yellow fin tuna meal and I had the fish and chips. The tuna was excellent, fresh, well cooked and very tasty. The fish and chips I had was prepared well but I wasn't crazy about the fish they used (Halibut), had a fishy aftertaste. The chips were very... More

Stopped at this restaurant while touring the Downtown area of Hickory, NC. It was a bit dated but with lots of beer memorabilia. The food was good, and there was plenty of local North Carolina brewed beers to try. Seemed like a local favorite for burgers. Not too much else to say.

I must say that we went here for the beer. Olde Hickory Brewing makes some really nice brews. In particular we wanted "Death By Hops". Their beer selection is very nice and the selection did not disappoint. You can sample several selections before you decide what you wold like. If you still want several, you can order 4 oz pours... Got bad seating, food was good.beer menu was a receipt and didn't describe the beers they had at all. Good pricing,a shot of Bacardi 151 was $5. I came with people from Lexington,nc based on recommendations, would never make a trip back just to eat like I did today.

..and come to this great locals restaurant in the old downtown. If you stay near the furniture mart, you might need a break from all the malls and franchise restaurants on that side of town after a long day furniture shopping. At least we did. It's VERY VERY EASY to get to the authentic and quaint franchise free downtown area.... More
