An immaculate restaurant with refined table service, the Thai Orchid welcomes diners. However the food lacks that spark that sets it apart from other Asian diners. The spring rolls are the most disappointing for their lack of flavor and somewhat rancid oil for frying. The rama shrimp is somewhat better, but still mediocre. The fried bananas beat all the other... More

We eat Thai a lot and enjoy it spicy. As we walked in all we saw is chairs and tables, no décor at all every plain. The Tom-yum soup was okay but was served way to hot (Temp) I had the red curry with shrimp and it had no hint of curry only coconut. My wife had the ginger shrimp... More

The reviewer below nailed it: bland brown sauces on what are supposed to be Thai basil or Thai chili dishes. Maybe they just water down the food to make it palatable for the source audience, I'm not sure. While the people who run this place are friendly, the food is some of the blandest Thai I've ever consumed. And I... More

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner of Pad Thai noodles and chicken satay. Both were excellent, especially the Pad Thai noodles with chicken. Perfect combination of sweet, salty and spicy. They will make it as spicy as you want it. Chicken Satay was great too served with a peanut sauce for dipping. Atmosphere is nice, a little spartan but very understated, the... More

Wish I could say otherwise, but this wasn't what I consider good Thai food, and I'm not sure it should be called Thai. Although the luncheon portions were generous, a primary failing was the sauces, which in two of the three lunches we ordered were variations on ye olde brown sauce. One item, "Oodle of Noodle" with chicken featured a... More

We have eaten here regularly for the past 5 years. This is by far the best Thai food I have ever had! I have tried many of the menu items, and they are consistently delicious. The food is freshly prepared and they will customize the "heat" if you ask them to. Their lunch specials are a great bargain and more... More

We eat here at least once a month. The food is always fresh and delicious. The presentation is so beautiful. Make sure you try the Pad Thai and the Massaman Curry. Don't forget to order sticky rice instead of regular white rice. The service is excellent, and the food comes to the table hot and freshly prepared.

I visited Thai Orchid again after about 2 years. The food remains pretty good but the portions have decreased and the prices have increased. Pad Thai is always my favorite dish at Thai Orchid and the taste was delicious but the atmosphere has changed and the restaurant was empty which was very surprising. I also love the different options of... More

Try to eat here everytime I get to Hickory. Not a fancy restaurant by any means nor is it easy to find, in the Target Kohls shopping center but it serves very good Thai food. The rainbow chicken has always been one of my fav dishes (ground chicken, with peas and carrots and spicy sauce), like their fresh rolls too.... More
