Holy schnitzel!!

Love German food and seek it out when traveling. This was a quaint family type restaurant with authentic wonderful food. Schnitzels were great, potato dumplings fabulous and red cabbage good but a little on the sweet side. Average service. odd entry with strange way of letting them know you... read more

The wait staff was not particularly friendly and a bit slow. The food was good but not cheap. If you have a craving for German food, this is the only place to go in Hendersonville.

This authentic German restaurant's food is average, but the portions are huge. The large salad has too much dressing on it which causes the veggies to "swim" in liquid. My husband likes the German sausages and red cabbage, so we go there for him. We have been there 3 times in the past two years. One of the wait staff... More

very unfortunate, we'have been there twice and bought stuff at the small store - we only went there for mom but don't wear anything white. The chairs were so filthy, the tables sticky. It needs a serious makeover. The food was OK but not really outstanding. When I go to a restaurant I expect them to cook it from scratch... More

Very relaxing and friendly restaurant. Had the Jagerschnitzel with spatzle. Fresh, tasty, nice size portions. Spatzle was home made not out of a box. Nice place to go for a true German food. I will be going back next time I have another day out.

We were excited to find a German restaurant in Western NC. It had decent ratings too. We were disappointed. Service was slow and not attentive. The food was American style German, not German like we've had in Germany. Schnitzel was tough and not very favorable. The German potato salad was cold and the potatoes were undercooked. They did replace them... More

I've had many of the menu items over the years, all of which have been "good" or better. The Ruben however is my favorite and is EXCELLENT. It remains one of the top 3 I've ever had throughout the U.S. and Europe. And the draft German beer is the icing on the cake!

We were very disappointed at our last visit this past weekend. Have had many meals in the past as well as at a main competitor located in Asheville. This Restaurant has gone down hill fast. Service was poor and inattentive. Food was average at best. Did not even get the salad and bread that was included with our meal. This... More

Great food. Share the sampler platter with someone. It was delicious. You won't go home hungry. The kids loved it. Gave our teenager a sample of the food to expect on his German trip. Our 9 year ordered shrimp off the kid menu, but quickly regretted not trying some of the authentic cuisine

We have been coming to Haus Heidelberg for a number of years when we happen to be in Hendersonville to visit family. The inside of the restaurant makes you feel like you have gone to Germany, instead of Hendersonville. The food is delicious, there is plenty of it, and it is all fixed just before you eat it. We often... More
