My family and I made a reservation for a private party upstairs, and our waitress (Ruth) gave us amazing service. Yes the food was good but our waitress was very professional, attentive, courteous, and always smiling. She made us have a fabulous evening, keep up the good work we will be regular guests from now. A good Irish Pub serving many Irish dishes. The service was good, the food hot and tasty. Although they were not very busy, the waiter was very attentive. Definitely not a "fast food" restaurant, with individually prepared dishes. Conveniently located on Main street in beautiful downtown Hendersonville, NC. A must for visitors and local alike.

Returned again to Hendersonville enroute to a conference in the mtns. Met up with Friends and picked Black Rose for lunch and catch up conversation. We were very delighted with their fennel/apple salad with salmon cooked to preference. Also ordered bangers and mash for comfort food: perfect! Shared one dessert. Waitress was friendly and efficient.

Got the corned beef and cabbage. A bit salty. What happened to real carrots? The little uniform bagged kiddie nubs formed from irregular processed carrots were on the plate. Potatoes were crispy and delicious. Three nice pieces of corned beef.

The "go to" place for a "pub experience!" Great pub food and beverages . . . friendly and timely service . . . cozy setting! Dress casually and prepare to meet and greet friends there!

Black Rose was perfect on a windy, cold autumn day. They have a good beer selection and the burgers and fish-n-chips were great!

We sat near the front for an early supper or late lunch about 3:00 p.m. (Or so). I ordered the chicken sandwich which was very good (a special taste mayo was the treat and bacon sinful), skipped the fries, with a substitution of coleslaw (great taste and fewer calories. The server was very attentive despite a three or four minute... More

We ate inside, but the people outside were enjoying the weather in addition to their food. I had the spinach salad and a reuben sandwich. Both were really good. Service was excellent.

Compared to the other pub in town, this one is a little better. Still nothing to get excited about. I'm used to eating at McGuire's in Pensacola, where I'm from, so it's hard to find other pubs that compare.

My husband and I have been Hanna Flan patrons for years, but our last visit there was nothing short of atrocious. We had been to Black Rose years and years ago, and honestly, I don't know why we stopped going. So, after raves from some local friends there, especially regarding the Shepherd's Pie, we decided to try it again. For... More
