We were sad when we found this place has closed but a local told us they moved. We had an awesome breakfast of a previous trip and wanted to eat there again. The new location is different and you have to order before you sit and bus your own table. I still enjoyed my meal but missed the personal service... More

While visiting Flat Rock we went in search of breakfast and stumbled across Mean Mr Mustard by chance looking for another place. Baked goods were delicious. Enjoyed the omelet special of the day. Service was also good including clearing our table as we enjoyed a 2nd cup of coffee. Probably showing my age but enjoyed the Beatles atmosphere as well.

We had a family breakfast here. There were so many local LEOs eating, that it could have been a police substation. We ordered biscuits and gravy, as well as the special breakfast. The biscuits were perfect...crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The cheese grits were outstanding, and the eggs were cooked to order. The coffee was excellent, too. This... More

Really liked the old location downtown. The move did not result in such fond memories. Sign on door says cash only.... Really? Coffee shop with counter service and limited menu. No table service. In fact, sign on dining tables states to clear your own table. Customers can hear every word kitchen staff says and it may not always be appropriate.....see... More

A super place for a tasty breakfast or lunch prepared by folks who love what they are doing. And the Beatles. Ask for a Yellow Submarine with a homemade muffin on the side.

Never had an experience like this anywhere... We walked in at 1:45, 15 minutes before closing. The lady at the register said to the sandwich maker, "We have four that just walked in." The guy in the back yelled to the front, "Don't people read the sign as to what time we close?" We said "fine" and turned around and... More

Not long ago, had my favorite sandwich at Mean Mr. Mustard. Was fine. But, the last time I was there, it wasn't very good - skimpy on the filling - didn't use any butter or oil to grill the bread - sandwich was dry. So dry you needed something to drink with it - to help get it down. Looks... More

New location affords outdoor eating, which is nice, but very tight and awkward driveway with steep incline is not exactly welcoming. We were disappointed at the reduced menu and "Order at the Counter" service. Lastly, I thought a low ceiling fan would very literally chop the top of my head off-suggested they correct that very quickly.

My favorite, eggs Diana, is on the menu. So delish !!! Grit cake, salmon, spinach, and great special sauce. Sitting on the deck with a gooood cup of coffee, great weather, and nice service. Come on over.

Great little restaurant where the food is good, atmosphere quite fun and the service good too! It is a small place but they managed to seat 6 in our party with very little wait. They have always been busy when we've been there!
