Let me start this review off by saying I am not a huge fan of Carolina style BBQ. I stopped here with my wife and son on the way to visit relatives. I ordered the combination plate with BBQ pork and fried chicken. The pork was good, like I said, not a huge Carolina BBQ fan. The chicken was pretty... More

It was worth the drive from Raleigh for this BBQ gem!!! By far the best Carolina BBQ I have ever had, and pecan pie... The cole slaw was creamy with a vinegary hint, and the pork was perfect! Service was friendly and attentive. Thankfully we left just as the after church rush was starting!

I was out with friends and we decided to try this place out for dinner. We were not disappointed. I had the fried chicken and BBQ. It was flavorful and not a bite was left on my plate. The service was also great. If you love BBQ chicken, fried chicken, BBQ pork, and other southern staples then this is the place... More

My friend from NC said that NC BBQ is synonymous with pork. This part of the state is known for pork production. I prefer BBQ chicken or beef. I noticed Wilber's has a NC restaurant rating at the time of 93.5. In discussing ratings with a restaurant owner elsewhere, I understand that the ratings are often subjective with little reasoning... The service was fine. The prices were fine. The atmosphere was just what I was expecting. The sweet tea and hush puppies were outstanding. But the BBQ was just okay. Living in NC I have had so much amazing BBQ that I don't care to eat just okay BBQ. There was nothing wrong with it, it wasn't bad, and if... More

This place is right out of the 1960's - everything seems to be in a time warp but the food. The vinegar soaked ( a SC thing I understand) and then sauced BBQ brisket was so good. The hushpuppies (with their special red gravy to die for) was so yummy I'll never for get it. Plenty of food, friendly staff... More

There is nothing like eastern North Carolina BBQ and Wilber's is the best in the region! My wife grew up in Goldsboro and I take her back as much as possible so that I can go to Wilber's.

There is nothing in this world wrong with Wilber's as far as atomosphere or helpful staff is concerned. There may not be anything wrong with the food judging by the amount of patrons that were there the day we visited. All I can say is being a NC BBQ explorer I found this BBQ to be the worst I've encountered... More

Eating here is a true experience of Eastern North Carolina BBQ. Pork is great. Sides are very good tea is good. Hush puppies are outstanding! Only issue is sometimes it is inconsistent. But worth eating here many times.

I have eaten here many more times than I can count. My wife loves the barbeque, but I love the barbeque chicken better. Either choice is without regret. The barbeque is of course Carolina style with vinegar and crushed red pepper. All barbeque is not the same. This is true Carolina style.
