The Best Eastern NC BBQ in Goldsboro

I've been eating at Wilber's my whole life and it is my favorite Eastern NC BBQ. The hush puppies are great, too.

I grew up in the deep south and never experienced vinegar-based Eastern NC barbecue until I moved here about 13 years ago. Wilber's does it right, although nothing sets their pulled pork apart from the hundreds of others BBQ joints around the area. They do have fantastic fried chicken and just about any southern side dish you would expect. The... More

Wilber's Barbecue is legendary in NC and for good reason. There is simply no better place to get authentic barbecue. The hush puppies, Cole slaw, and Brunswick stew are also top notch. Wilber's is always busy so you may have a short wait, but the line moves quickly.

Wilber's has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember. Every time we made the biannual drive to Atlantic Beach my favorite part of the entire trip was our stop at Wilber's. Great chicken, mouthwatering BBQ, crispy, golden perfectly cooked hush puppies, and most important: GREAT slaw. It is so easy for BBQ joints to totally mess... More

Wilbur's is a local landmark and a popular stop on the way to/from the beach, but (at the risk of losing my Wayne County citizenship), I don't think the food is that great.. The atmosphere is friendly, the servers experienced, the menu simple. The BBQ is cooked over a wood-fire and the place is usually very busy, but I think... More

You don't go here for fine dining. The staff is very friendly. It is one of the "down home" style restaurants. Hushpuppies are brought to your table with whatever you order. BBQ sandwish with or without the slaw is good. The bbq is consistently good. We stopped here a year ago and it hasn't changed. My husband is from eastern... More

Not my favorite place. Only reason I go is for the BBQ sauce. I don't care for their veggies. Staff need attitude adjustments and quit flirting with the male customers. It's tacky. Fried chicken is good when you dip in sauce. I suggest takeout for this establishment.

Wilbur's has been in Goldsboro for 53 years, and is one of the greatest barbecue restaurants in North Carolina, a state known for its great barbecue joints! The barbecue is pit-cooked over hardwood coals that are burned on the premises. The barbecue pork is fine, but if you like a ketchup based sauce, you need to take your own because... More

Wow! Wilber's in known for great bbq...we all know that. My wife and I needed a good breakfast and saw Wilber's offers it from 6-10 AM. We went over and had a great meal. The pork tenderloin and egg breakfast was great. The stuffed sausage seasoned perfectly was over the top. If your looking for a bbq break and want... More
