This Goldsboro fixture seemed to have been struck by a severe bout of apathy, and left us wondering how our experience could have been so disappointing. We gave poor marks all the way around on quality, service, and value. * Quality: My wife ordered the flounder special. The breading was first-rate, but the fish meat itself was extremely soggy, something... More

I discovered Wilber's in the early 80s and have never driven past the place without stopping. Even if I'm not hungry I'll get some of his whole hog BBQ to take with me. Wilber's is where every wanna' be pit master needs to do their apprenticeship.

Stopped by this bbq place for the first time. I got a pulled pork North Carolina style sandwich and hushpuppies, both were excellent. Stopped here a little after lunch time on Saturday and got served quickly even though there were a lot of cars in the parking lot.

My husband and I made a trip to Wilber's on Sunday night, Sept. 7, driving more than 30 minutes and arriving about 6 PM. There were several tables occupied, but not overly busy. Waitress came promptly with drinks and hushpuppies, which were hot and tasty. My husband ordered the bbq chicken, with the golden gravy. He got a leg/thigh quarter... More

Walking into Wilber's is like going into a time warp. The decor obviously hasn't changed and has a certain charm (and musty smell!). I loved the unchanged spirit of the place with Wilber walking around keeping an eye on things. Maybe I had my hopes too high based on the hype for this bbq. I thought the pork bbq was... More

If you want tasty pork barbecue, this is a great place to try. Sides are typically southern as well, don't expect a lot of healthy options but it is yummy.

Dine in or take out. Wilber's is one of the top go-to places for bar-b-q in eastern NC with a long history of quality "Q". Wilber's is often written about in all of the "Best Bar B Q" articles featured in magazines and books.

You go here for their pork barbecue which is very, very good. We have tried several other barbecue restaurants over 40+ years and still favor Wilbur's as our top choice. That being said, Wilber's décor has not changed since the 70's. But it's Ok and fairly clean. I wish I could say the same about their restrooms which could really... More

They do family style (bowls of food from a pre-set menu) which is good, but too much for family of five only. Barbecue chicken, fried chicken and pulled pork all really good. Potato salad and Cole slaw both nice accompaniments. Hush puppies are great. Brunswick stew is weak link. Tasted like canned soup. Staff is very friendly and did well... More

A friend told me about this place and ever since then we have always stopped here when passing through Goldsboro. Ask for some chicken gravy! Dip your hush puppies or fries in it. Yummmmm!!
