Chicken... desert..

Fried chicken is always crisp and moist. I go for the chicken. Livers are crunchy without being overdone. Banana pudding is fresh and exquisite taste. Take cash. They do not accept check or credit cards. They do have a charge for service money machine.

Like Tony's, the Shrimp Boat is a Gastonia legend. The fish and chicken are the best around. My funny story about The Shrimp Boat is that a while back a couple of people were arrested for allegedly yelling out that that there were 2 bombs in the restaurant, which was not the case. I said they probably said "there are... More

This is a great local restaurant for some delicious food! I love the Chicken Thigh plate and the Green Shrimp the most! If they sold just the crispy skin from the chicken I would definitely buy it! Service is always great and food is always good and hot! Make sure to have cash there a cash only place. Definitely a... More

Love the Shrimp Boat but have to admit I always get chicken. Great place and sooo good. Nobody does southern fried chicken better! Unless it's my me-maw!

With the name of the establishment containing "Shrimp", one would not expect the most popular dish to be the chicken. Yes, there are shrimp to be had here as well. Both are very good.

Have been eating here for over 30 years. They have the best chicken of anywhere around. They also have seafood which is good as well.

We travel many Saturdays to college football games, Shrimp Boat chicken is always part of the tailgate cuisine, for the past 12 years and into the future. If you want it hot eat in, it's better at the game, before during and especially after a win!! Go Clemson!! Cole slaw also rocks and the sweet tea is a a true... More

Needing a quick local lunch while passing through Gastonia, TripAdvisor reviews sent me here. Perfect type of little local place I love. Nothing fancy... you place your order at the counter, find your seat and listen for them to shout out your number. The chicken was fried absolutely perfectly with really light and crispy crust. Served super hot right out... More

So much better tasting chicken than bojangles and especially KFC. Reasonable priced as well. Bring cash because they don't accept debit or credit cards. They do have an atm. Good fries and fried mushrooms

If you love fried chicken this is the place. No one anywhere has better chicken than Shrimp Boat! They are fast to get your food out to you and as everyone else has stated it is cash only but they do have a atm in the dinning room. Try this place if you love chicken I am sure you will... More
