Their chef needs to go to cooking school. Everything was terrible except the bread. I have never seen such awful lasagna, picatta was done with many mushrooms and no capers, saltimbocca had a slice of ham over the veal, primavera was watery not creamy. DO NOT EAT HERE until they get a new chef. Hve been to other Portofino's that... More

The food is excellent, from their pizza to their take out lasagna for 4. The food is fresh, hot and delicious. The staff are always friendly and greet you with a smile.

I've been visiting Portofino's for years and its still the best Italian restaurant in Gastonia. I love their pizza as well as the pasta. For some reason, I cannot find a restaurant that has spaghetti carbonara on the menu, and that is my all time favorite! I mentioned this to the manager on one of my visits and he offered... More

We love their spaghetti with meatballs, which has always been delicious. Their Primavera is excellent as well. Always order the house salad dressing, it's the bomb!

Wide variety of Italian dishes. Dishes are not too fancy but portions are more than ample. Owners/managers are hard working guys from Naples. Pizza is very good too. In a shopping center but with nice Italian decor and background music. Service is always good.

This is my third time eating at this establishment. First time was right after the Gaston Gazzette reviewed them as a good pizza shop and it was ok. Had better, had worse. Tried it again and the pizza was burnt on the bottom. Figured ok, it was an off night. Tried it again this evening and it was burnt once... More

We've always liked the food here, especially the pizza. 10% off for church groups on Sundays. Located in Gastonia's Franklin Square III across from Movie Theaters, easy to find off I-85, exit 23.
