This place is a throwback to the time of carhops and curb service. You can also go inside to place your order at the counter, take a number, and then go pick your order up when your number is called. The BBQ isn't the best, but their slaw is! It is messy, so get plenty of napkins. You can buy... More

This place is a long time favorite of Gastonia natives, and is a must stop for us when we visit this area each year. It is an unassuming facility and location, with a no-frills interior. Orders are placed at a counter, and seating is just booths. The attraction is simply the food. There are many options and choices on the... More

The pork BBQ smells rotten and tastes worse. Slaw is minced in some nasty sauce. Terrible..good burgers though.

This place is almost a ghost of its self...used to be a busy place...they still have the BEST slaw (more like a sauce ) ..but you are better off to just buy their sauce in grocery store and put on your own burger as their food is overpriced nowadays

This place has been in business for at least 50 years. The BBQ sauce is in the slaw. The bread buns are toasted. The Cherry Lemon Sundrop is excellent. The diner/burger joint is such fun and is a requirement every time I visit Gastonia.

I usually get Black's BBQ (another BBQ restaurant in town), however, they were closed for vacation this past week. My grandma and I wanted BBQ so she made the suggestion of RO's. I am glad we came, she used to come here as a teenager in the 50's-60's. She says it's the same as it has always been. The minced... More

How anyone can love this place is beyond comprehension. Again it must be nostalgia, it certainly has nothing to do with the slop they call food, or the rudeness they call customer service. No, I do not know their menu by heart (thank goodness). That is no reason to be rude and condescending. My first experience here was nothing less... More

Stopped here on a business trip on the basis of many good reviews on Trip Advisor. Big mistake! The "minced" pork is very bland and the pink colored slaw, which isn't really slaw, just tastes weird. The barbeque sauce is a generic brand in small plastic tubs, usually reserved for jelly or margarine. Awful stuff. Drive on.

There Slaw is awesome, it's great on chips, chicken, or just a plain ole slaw sandwich! I can not manage without a tub in the fridge! You can buy the slaw in local grocery stores or at the restaurant. The restaurant by the way is a local landmark too, it's been around since the 50's and is as good as... More
