One of the best meals I have ever had. I had the Mahi mahi and my husband had the meatballs and pasta marinara. The waitress suggested the lunch portion. The food and the service was outstanding. Will be going back to try the Belgian Chocolate Cake.

We learned after out first attempt to have lunch at Cafe Rel that in order to avoid standing in line, one needs to arrive earlier than noon for lunch. Cafe Rel does NOT accept reservations. A sign at the entrance states " If you have reservations, you are in the wrong restaurant." A widely varied menu offers tasty dishes for... More

Be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes to eat at this tiny, cramped restaurant located in the Hot Spot gas station. A nice touch is the restaurant shares the rest rooms with the gas station and they are horrendous! The food in this cafe is not memorable. The service is very slow. One time we went with our son... Wonderful treat when in Franklin! Must try the cake! Service is always fantastic and the setting is not what you would expect to be considering it is housed in a gas station! Don't let that scare you though lol its VERY clean!

Menu is extensive (at least 8 pages). Lots to choose from. Maybe a smidge too much because it took a while for all everyone in our party to make a decision. Food was very tasty. We had to wait--it was a Saturday night. But the wait was worth it. A couple things to watch for... The place is small so... More

Food choices were both varied and well prepared. Service was OK but nothing to write home about. Caffe Rel takes cash only! After eating there we recommended it to some friends, they shared our enthusiasm for both the menu and quality of food.

This place is so overrated it's a joke. We had the worst waitress ever! She came to the table and said we needed to order because the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes. She spilled a glass of wine in my wife's lap and barely expressed any sorrow or mistake on her part. Everything was so over garliced that it... More

I really like to take unsuspecting guests to Cafe Rel. I know the food is going to be really good and always interesting. I don't say too much about the place till we get there and watch their jaws drop when we pull up at a gas station. The gas station (The Hot Spot) is a busy place with a... More
