Bad weather had us trapped at the top of a mountain for 3 days over Thanksgiving week. When we could finally get out our first stop was the Sunset. Country ham for me, A BLT for my companion. And coconut pie for both of us. I read some of the comments on this site about bad service. Saw no sign... More

I stopped for lunch at the Sunset two days before Thanksgiving. I ordered the lunch special, which happen to be turkey, dressing, sweet potato, etc. I was really impressed with the home cooked quality of the food - all for $7.95. I feel like I had Thanksgiving dinner early this year. Nice place, highly recommended. This is a no frills... More

We have visited the Sunset many times through the years- when mentioning Franklin my wife will often ask-"Can we eat at the Sunset?" Their pies are memorable-though not always perfect their Coconut Cream Pie is one of my wife's favorites. The Sunset has good home fare for daily specials with tasty side dishes-the portions are good and I have enjoyed... More

Great prices. My family of 6 ate for 50.00. My friend chicken was great. Sides very good. Perfect portions. We just had a real nice meal at a great price. Our waitress was real sweet and nice. Warning....cash only. Will definately go back everytime we are in the area.

The food is basic, simple and good. Menu is limited. Was only here for breakfast. Nothing special. Located a little out of downtown on the road to route #28.

Everyone kept telling us that this was an awesome place, but I have had better meals at chain fast food places. The bread on my sandwich was stale and the tuna had no taste other than the tuna-I can do that at home. We weren't regulars so I felt kind of ignored as no one knew my name.

I was up in the Franklin area of N Carolina for a few days and happened upon the Sunset restaurant and was pleasantly surprised with my turkey with all the fixins. I was very good and plenty of food to fill my hungry stomach. The place is on a main back road and the inside was full of people, so... More

Since this is close to my work and they are very quick my wife and I go there just about every day. We have a specific server and sit with her all the time. Although the food is usually very good our server will let us know what to stay away from. They used to have excellent fried chicken but... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local shop keeper, maybe because the owner of the restaurant was in his store at the time. My wife & I were visiting Franklin for the day & wanted to eat at a family run place. They had a fair amount of locals(judging by the familiarity) eating there. It's pleasantly appointed in... More
