When all the locals are here and you have to wait for a breakfast table - well you know it's a great place. The southern breakfast was absolutely delicious at a very frugal price. We had children with us and the staff was helpful and friendly with our small ones too.

After mining for Gems, we stopped at the local gas station to use a restroom. The lady at the counter suggested The Sunset when we asked for a local place to eat. We drove and were all craving a hamburger. Good home cooked, not frozen, as the shape was irregular like at home. So full but the PIE looked yummy... More

The Sunset Restaurant is a quaint little hometown restaurant that offers daily specials along with a full menu. On Friday they offer turkey and dressing (just like your mama used to make) along with a choice of 2 vegetables. A good place to eat in Franklin, North Carolina.

I have to go there as often as possible whenever I am in Franklin. The food is old-fashioned home cooking. I've never had a bad meal there. It's always busy at mealtime, because the locals eat there a lot. Their pies are excellent, especially the strawberry pie. Don't miss it.

We have eaten at the Sunset Restaurant many times over the 30+ years we have been visiting the Franklin area. The food is always great and the service and friendly atmosphere makes the visit more like being at home. We eat breakfast usually but this week we tried the dinner. I can't say enough good things about the food. I... More

We went for breakfast at this little local restaurant. I have to say I think this was one of my favorite restaurants on this trip. The service was great, the food was very good, the biscuits were homemade. We really enjoyed our meal here.

Sunset is a very family friendly little restaurant that is frequented by both visitors and locals alike. The food comes out quickly and has been very good every time I've been. They have delicious hamburgers and great strawberry pie (seasonally). They are always a destination for lunch or breakfast whenever I'm in Franklin.

After hearing about the Sunset and reading reviews, we were hoping for a local family restaurant with home style cooking...maybe fried chicken, meat loaf, country style steak and fresh vegetables. Unfortunately, almost everything is frozen. We were very disappointed. Cash only and you only get one free re-fill on sweet tea. It was not exactly a home style experience. I... More

Bad weather had us trapped at the top of a mountain for 3 days over Thanksgiving week. When we could finally get out our first stop was the Sunset. Country ham for me, A BLT for my companion. And coconut pie for both of us. I read some of the comments on this site about bad service. Saw no sign... More

I stopped for lunch at the Sunset two days before Thanksgiving. I ordered the lunch special, which happen to be turkey, dressing, sweet potato, etc. I was really impressed with the home cooked quality of the food - all for $7.95. I feel like I had Thanksgiving dinner early this year. Nice place, highly recommended. This is a no frills... More
