Trip Advisor needs a "good rating" on their scale....

as that is what I would give Southern Exposure. I wouldn't recommend driving from Raleigh to Faison to visit this place (as I would Raleigh to Kinston for the OTHER find that is a gem) but I would say if you are on 40 headed north or south and want to eat at something more than fast food dining... read more

We enjoyed a marvelous meal at Southern Exposure on May 16, 2015, just a few nights before the restaurant is due to close for family medical reasons. We were fortunate to have arrived at 5:45 when there was still a table available. By the time we had received our starter (cheese board--delicious) the line of patrons was out the door.... More

Arrived and was promptly seated and ordered wine and entrees. After ten minutes with no drinks ( not even a glass of water) I offered to fetch drinks from the bar for my date and myself. Assured that wasn't necessary we waited another ten minutes or so while the owner dottered around lighting votives (she passed right by our table... More

No matter what night we eat there, the food is always excellent, service as well most of the time, nice wine list, crab cakes, oysters, pork chop, fried green tomatoes, collards can not be topped anywhere.

I recently visited Southern Exposure for a Christmas party. The party had about 20 people and was held midweek. Although there were only about 10-15 other customers in the restaurant, the service and food preparation was slow. Typically at most establishments, restaurants try to plate food at the same time. Unfortunately, the food came out over about a 10-15 minute... More

The food here is fantastic and offers something different from the usual burger, bbq, chicken line that is the standard for this area. The atmosphere is fresh and vibrant. Some of the staff didn't seem particularly friendly, but I greatly enjoyed the cuisine!

We stopped here on our way to the beach from Raleigh after searching and reading reviews for restaurants along the way. We were not disappointed. What a find - the food was excellent and the server was attentive to the right degree. We will definitely return.

After a 20 minute wait with a half empty restaurant and the wait staff standing around the back talking, we were seated and had good service. Everyone was attentive and as soon as I put the last spoon full in my mouth, someone was trying to take my dirty plate. Skip the fried green tomatoes; too small and overpriced. Skip... More

This place is always a treat! The food and service are excellent. We moved from a large metropolitan area to a small town and it's been a challenge when it comes to eating out. This is an excellent place for a nice night out.

We had six adults. It was the first time for me. I had heard of the food, bar and menu. Food was good. I had the bone in pork chop. I recommend that but, I had a stroke in 2008 which affected my right side. My wife ask if the chef could cut my pork chop for me. When it... More
