I am not an oyster fan, but I figured if they are known for their oysters, they must also have good shrimp and scallops - WRONG! I ordered a split plate of fried shrimp and scallops. The shrimp were small, did not have much flavor and were on the tough side. The scallops also were overcooked and also did not... More

My parents brought me to C&H last year, and now I crave their steamed oysters! We always get here early so that we're waiting for the first seating because the secret is out, and this place gets PACKED! If you're a small party and lucky enough to get a seat at the bar, it's a great experience to chat with... More

They are open from October through May, it varies. You have to order oysters and pay at the oyster bar. The rest of the meal is waitress service at a table. Except for the oysters everything is fried. Had the 1/2 peck of steamed oysters very good. Had the flounder was good too. We will return. Small place and very... More

Awesome place to get fresh oysters. Tonight we had shrimp and steamed oysters. They were both great. The waitress was awesome and very accommodating. Will definitely come back and sit at the bar next time.

The fried oysters were good however you have to be wary not to get caught in the apparent ongoing fued between the watiress staff and the guys behing the oyster bar. Also you are not allowed to order steamed oysters at the table--you have to order at the bar and pick them up yourself and pay a $1 extra as... More

Service was outstanding and the oysters were outstanding. I would return but the pig I am, oysters aren't enough to fill me up. $24 for a peck, not willing to pay $50 on just oysters. If one peck fills you up its definitely worth trying out and the guys that run the place are good people it seems. Nothing wrong... More

Had fresh steamed oysters-wonderful, delicious. Steamed shrimp was just as good. It's a little chaotic upon entering-at the bar order your oysters and pay for them there or enjoy a seat at the table and enjoy a fried dinner. If you want to eat steamed oysters in the seated area, you must order & purchase them at the oyster bar.... More

For a local seasonal restaurant the oyster bar is not a secret. I have met people as far away as the Pocono Mountains that vacation in this area and have been to the oyster bar. You can't beat the variety and quality of the seafood here. The friendly service and outstanding quality make this a great place to eat and... More

Friends drove us an hour to this little shack that is only open 6 months out of the year. You could miss it very easily and when you walk in it looked like a small town bar & grill. But actually we all ordered different items and each was outstanding. I had flounder that was enough for two. It was... More

Sitting at the bar watching these men shuck a peck of oysters is a fall favorite of ours. We drive from Chesapeake for their oysters. I am the forth generation keeping C & H a traditional favorite alive. My children love the frog legs here too. Best of all BYOB.
