Great seafood!

Great food! Only wish they were open year round! We took our family to eat at C&H when they came for a visit and we were all very pleased with our meals. The hush-puppies are great and my parents loved the Oysters. I don't eat them so I can't vouch for them personally. I had fried flounder... read more

If you want oysters in Elizabeth City, the Oyster Bar is the best place to go. It is only open during oyster season as the owners like their time off! The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

Drove one hour one way to come here. Came at 5:00 pm when they opened to find the bar seats were already taken! Lesson learned: the doors open at 4:45 pm so be here then to get a seat at the bar. Second lesson: they only serve beer and soft drinks but you can bring your own bottle of wine... More

I always have my eye open for a "off the beaten path" place. C&H Oysters is certainly that. They have steamed oysters by the peck and half peck and half-shell oysters by the dozen and half dozen. You can tell that this is a local only place but they greeted me and took care of my like I go there... More

At C & H you want to sit at the bar. That's a must. Because at the bar, they shuck the steamed oysters right in front of you. With that in mind, plan to arrive no earlier than 8pm because there is always a wait. Many other menu items are offered, but you really want to go for the oysters.... More

I am not an oyster fan, but I figured if they are known for their oysters, they must also have good shrimp and scallops - WRONG! I ordered a split plate of fried shrimp and scallops. The shrimp were small, did not have much flavor and were on the tough side. The scallops also were overcooked and also did not... More

My parents brought me to C&H last year, and now I crave their steamed oysters! We always get here early so that we're waiting for the first seating because the secret is out, and this place gets PACKED! If you're a small party and lucky enough to get a seat at the bar, it's a great experience to chat with... More

They are open from October through May, it varies. You have to order oysters and pay at the oyster bar. The rest of the meal is waitress service at a table. Except for the oysters everything is fried. Had the 1/2 peck of steamed oysters very good. Had the flounder was good too. We will return. Small place and very... More
