Food and Service was excellent. Love the atmosphere and grounds. This place would be absolutely excellent if they could expand their parking and most importantly move the smoking area away from the front entrance. Having 5-10 people smoking area right in the front door takes away from that great restaurant experience.

I enjoy dining at Montero's whether for a casual meal or something more formal. You will never feel under dressed or over. Great food; friendly management. Great addition to Elizabeth City.

Meh. After going to Montero's on the passionate recommendation of friends in the area we were surprised our service was both poor and slow and the food was just OK. Our server ignored us and allowed us to finish our app tray and drain our drinks without even offering refill. She never offered any awareness that we had been waiting... More

after a very poor dinner the previous night in Fayetteville NC, I was very happy to enjoy a great meal in the small town of Elizabeth City NC. Met with a local company for dinner for seven - and everyone was happy with all aspects of the meal. I enjoyed a shrimp and flounder fish taco plate that was well... More

I've been coming to Montero's for years, and I have to say--it really is the best restaurant in Elizabeth City! Excellent service, amazing seafood, appetizers, desserts, and a fantastic bar. The prices are what you'd pay at a chain sit-down restaurant, but the quality is many times better. Everything is homemade, the owners and staff are friendly and genuine, and... More

Our son's wedding took place in nearby Hertford, NC. We live in Michigan. We called most of the restaurants nearby and chose Montero's in Elizabeth City, NC. We worked with the owner, Andy, over the phone and through e-mail. Everything was taken care of very professionally even though we had to make 3-4 changes before our arrival. Andy and his... More

We chose this restaurant based on Tripadvisor reviews. It is in almost every respect admirable. Well appointed and furnished, attentive and friendly staff, effective air-conditioning, comfortable seating, a decent and good-value wine list and no piped music, which for me is a major plus. The only real downer was what should be the restaurant’s raison d’être: the food. It was... More

We found Montero's Restaurant while lingering at a B&B in Elizabeth City on our way to OBX. Our hosts made our reservation after we checked the favorable reviews for the restaurant on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. It seemed very popular with locals, which usually indicates a good restaurant that has stood the test of time. The property,... More

I have traveled all over and love trying foods from many cultures. This restaurant has a great selections, the quality and preparation was excellent and service was great also. I was surprised at the variety offered here for e-city. I grew up in the area and find most restaurants serve about the same meals. Our meals, as I tasted most... More
