One of Durham's best restaurants

Very nice restaurant with unique menu. It is not a large menu but there is a little something for everyone. Rabbit stew to pork shank to steak to seafood gives you an idea of the menu variety. Well prepared. Staff very pleasant and courteous

It strongly recommend this restaurant. The weakest item are rolls that appear to be bought at grocery store otherwise food is great

My husband and I were in the area and decided on a late lunch at Watts Grocery. We'd seem the chef at the farmers market and like her selection of farmers and fresh items. This is a cozy little restaurant with a nice bar area. The lunch menu offered a good variety, and we started with the cornmeal fried oysters.... More

My husband and I took our adult daughter to Watts Grocery Sunday night. The restaurant was a little quiet at first. We sat down at 6pm but picked up considerably by 8the time we left. Our server was very friendly and knowledgable, made good suggestions. We all had draft local beers. My husband had pork shank and was very happy... More

I have never been a fan of Southern food, but this creative healthy, fresh version changes everything! Salads are crisp and have tasty new combinations of ingredients. Beef is prepared expertly. In the summer, their watermelon salad is to die for and creamed blue cheese spinach make me want to come back. Nice attentive staff, seems to be managed well... More

Really good food and drinks! Came here with a few friends and thoroughly enjoyed it! A little pricey, but we'll definitely be back. Friendly staff, and nice interior. Great drink selection!

I didn't really like this restaurant. The salad starter was small and very spare on the good bits. No bread was provided until we asked. My vegetarian entree (main) was very boring and it seems incredible that there is actually no vegetarian option on the menu. The table near the waiting station should be avoided. It is too noisy.

I've only been to Watts for brunch on Sundays, but I've been numerous times. I love their grits bowl, Get it all the way. You won't regret it. And have a mimosa or bloody mary or two. Yum!

This review is only about brunch. Watts serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday. We arrived on a Saturday at close to noon. It was packed and was still packed when we left about 90 minutes later. Packed, of course, doesn't always mean great food, but there was a nice buzz--a pleasant, celebratory mood about the place. The menu offered breakfast,... More
