Talked with Chef Andre/owner today. It was great to see him back after a hiatus. He is planning some new menus and they promise to be be really wonderful. He revealed some plans, but I won't pass them along, I don't want to steal his thunder. Our lunch today was really great and the service is wonderful. I have two... More

I really like Melo's. It's a family owned, neighborhood restaurant which is the kind I prefer. The food is great. Service is generally very good although it slows down when they are very busy. The menu has something for everyone with a Mediterranean flavor. Plus, and most importantly to my wife, they have the best tiramisu in the area. Plus... More

For our anniversary, my wife and I recently went here. We had heard lots of positive things about this restaurant. I have to say we were somewhat disappointed. It was by no means bad (except for the drinks), but it was pretty average. The tapas selection is not very large (unsure if that is because it was a weekday). We... More

Our dining evening at Melo's was lovely from beginning to end. Greeted by warm hostess, seated immediately, and serviced immediately. The service was so professional! Our meals were delicious----house special lasagna and shrimp on pasta. Fabulous garlic bread. And the owner chatted with us to answer questions about the interesting and engaging art in the restaurant. When we return to... More

Excellent and very friendly and welcoming waitstaff and personnel. Excellent food and desserts, esp the hazelnut chocolate dealie. NOTHING to dislike, it's a wonderful place, warm and friendly, with wonderful food. So nice to go somewhere where you feel "part of the family" and guests from different tables often chat amongst themselves.. A happy place to dine.

What's up, Andre? Have always been a fan of Melos but miss seeing Andre, the owner. The staff is great, but Andre's presence is what makes this restaurant stand above others. Every time we go we they say the Andre "just left". The only other comment I have is that I wish they would serve some rustic crusty bread -... More

Was looking for something light and and more interested In a good wine selection actually. This place fit the bill. Ordered the potato soup which was the soup du jour and it was very good. Followed it with the shrimp tapas plate and it was also very good. A glass of Rioja followed by a glass of the house Malbec... More

We saw this place on Trip Advisor and were looking for a nice local restaurant - not a chain. This funky little restaurant was a delight. Not fancy, but the staff was super accommodating and the food was great. Definitely go back next time we are in Durham. Also, loved getting to try their limoncello and grappa.

We tried Melo on a whim, wanting to try a place new to us. Traditional setting with attentive wait staff. They were great helping us with dietary restrictions. Food was fresh and authentically prepared. Will definitely eat here again!
