Quaint atmosphere. parking garage across the street but I was lucky and got free evening street parking right on side of the restaurant. Fabulous food. Service is OK, not stellar. Not a lot of privacy, tables are close together. Worth another mention though, food is fabulous.

Rue Cler was one of the first restaurants to move into downtown Durham, in 2006. We hadn't visited in a while, but we were back in town and wondered if it was still as good as it used to be. We were not disappointed. I had an old standby, the moules frites ($12) and my husband had a poisson du... More

Delicous duck confit crepe if a bit on the salty side. Loved the beignets! My friends meals were very good. Lovely little place. Expensive mimosas though!

After wandering the Duke Gardens on a Sunday morning, we two were ready for a tasty lunch. I called the restaurant and was delighted to hear they had no wait. We were seated promptly upon arrival, were presented with brunch menus and agreed to the recommended beignets. The freshly made beignets were among the best I've had. After sipping on... More

We were on a business trip to Raleigh-Durham and two people suggested this restaurant. Reservations were made on a Friday evening which was a good thing because the restaurant was full. The three of us ordered off the Prix Fixe portion of the menu. We had between us fried green tomatoes, asparagus & sweet peas, the tenderloin, scallops and duck.... More

I like Rue Cler and have eaten here a number of times over the years. I'm big on the mussels and fries. THe service is uneven - sometimes quite good - others it is not. Drink selection is limited (no iced tea - - hello, this is the south, don't care if you are a French place). I've eaten mostly... More

Came here for Saturday brunch with my husband. We arrived shortly after opening at 10am, and were seated straight away. I have heard that large groups should get a reservation to be on the safe side. We were served coffee and water promptly after being seated. There are many tasty sounding items on the menu, but finally managed to decide... More

I hadn't been to this restaurant for a couple years, but was looking for a good restaurant that wasn't too noisy so we could enjoy our dinner conversations. Rue Cler fit the bill for ambience, but the food wasnt anything like we remembered. Two of us had the Coq au vin and it lacked any flavor (I remembered scraping the... More

We came for Saturday brunch. It was crowded, and so we sat at the bar to avoid waiting in line. Loved the menu, Parisian style breakfast selections. We had duck confit crepe with salad, mussels in white wine with French fries, and beignets which was a must; and all of them were very good. The bartender who served us was... More

We were visiting from out of town to see a show at the Carolina Theatre. I searched trip advisor before our trip to find a restaurant near the theatre. We were not disappointed with our decision to try Rue Cler. It was the best dinner out we have had in a very long time. We tried the Prix Fixe and... More
