Saturday 11:30 lunch...Wife ordered a chicken on a bed of greens...Totally tasteless...my order of quiche of the day equalled my wife's tasteless meal. Do not have a clue how others rated this restaurant with 4 Stars...Also the sound level was not condusive for an enjoyable dining experience...

We had a great dinner at Rue Cler. We chose the Prix Fixe menu everything we ate was delicious, well done and with a beautiful presentation. Each dish had the right combination of fresh ingredients that melts in your mouth. The service was also good the only thing is that the place is a little dark. We are definitely coming back.

This restaurant has wonderful food, great atmosphere and a staff that bends over backwards to make you feel extra special. Everyone is happy! Even though there is a parking deck across the street, you can imagine you are in a Parisian bistro! Don't miss it when you are in Durham OR come to Durham just to eat here!

After a friend told me that Rue Cler had an amazing brunch, I knew it was the spot to go on my most recent weekend in Durham. We began with cocktails and an order for beignets. To die for! Airy and sweet and perfectly "doughy." Just the way a beignet should be. We sat up at the bar and the... More

Me and family visited last week. We tried half dozen menu items, all very good. Roasted chicken (Poulet) was excellent. Steak & frites also excellent.

Nice, airy French place in the heart of Durham. Several of my dining companions had Steak which while tasty, was not the best cut of meat. I had the classic Coq Au Vin that was very flavorful. Lovely, hot beignets following dinner. Had very nice, fresh Rose wine by the glass.

I do not go out to eat much, primarily because I feel I can cook my own food, serve it to myself and husband, have it cheaper and better, and avoid the pretentious restaurants where you wait for something that is only marginal. So, I am a harsh reviewer with all our world travels. Well Rue Cler Lunch was amazing!... More

My husband and I had a bad service experience here a few years ago, and haven't returned since. However, we chanced it last night for a spontaneous date night, and we are glad we did. The bartender was our waiter, as we selected one of the nice tables by the window. We got the 3-course prix fixe, and ordered 6... More

Excellent unique menu, reasonable portions and served with care. Not much to look at but has a rustic charm. Quiet atmosphere which allows you to enjoy your meal and company rather than the din of many restaurants. Well cooked and presented. Not cheap but a good value.

Quaint atmosphere. parking garage across the street but I was lucky and got free evening street parking right on side of the restaurant. Fabulous food. Service is OK, not stellar. Not a lot of privacy, tables are close together. Worth another mention though, food is fabulous.
