We were visiting from out of town to see a show at the Carolina Theatre. I searched trip advisor before our trip to find a restaurant near the theatre. We were not disappointed with our decision to try Rue Cler. It was the best dinner out we have had in a very long time. We tried the Prix Fixe and... More

Our second time. This time we sat at the bar for Sunday brunch. Perfect spot to people watch. Beignets & coffee for starters, then moved on to Duck Confit crepes that were to die for, mouth watering good. We were too early for cocktails. Next time. Like the vibe, menu & staff too. GO!

Our experience in 3 visits is very favorable. Each waitstaff has been helpful and attentive. Food is excellent and the cauliflower salad now a staple at our table. Price is lower that at comparable venues. The main dining room is much preferred. Check out the menu before you visit as the selection is a little limited--with that said we have not... More

Very good french restaurant. Great prices: cheese plate $9; best roasted chicken ever was only $18; very good french wine for $30. Service was fine. Some reviews say it wasn't great, but we got what we needed and when we wanted it and the waiter gave us solid recommendations. I'd certainly go back in a second.

My wife and I love this restaurant. It is one of several excellent French Restaurants in Durham, NC. The chefs are creative and offer excellence in food preparation, taste, and presentation. We dine here of an evening for a special night out, but we've also enjoyed outstanding lunches at Rue Cler. I also love to make a morning stop at... More

The food is so good at this restaurant, but John (one of the waiters) may be trying too hard to personify the "rude" French waiter. He needs to remember that he is in North Carolina and at least try to be polite and not be so condescending to costumes who only want to enjoy some really great food in a... More

We had Sunday brunch at Rue Cler and felt like we'd been dropped into a back street of the Paris Latin Quarter. The food was excellent and authentic French. A beautiful omelet with healthy stuff inside, served with a "salade vert" and and a perfect eggs benedict were a great start to our Sunday. One room is quite noisy when... More

The food was outstanding and the dishes were not something you will find other places. The menu offers you a choice of three items in three courses for a set price. There is also some a la carte items, but it may be a mistake to not eat what the chef has put together for that night. The portions are... More

We ate at Rue Cler last week. Group of 7 with 3 vegetarians. The food was outstanding. Some of us had the fixed price 3 course meal. It was a good value and the scallop entree was outstanding. I also loved the grilled asparagus with egg on top. Wanted to lick the plate. The single entrees were good but a... More

We've been to Rue Cler many times. It's always good, but they keep getting better. The prix fixe menu (3 courses for $30) is a true bargain, and all six different dishes my wife & I had last night were superb (as was the dessert). The wine list is well chosen and fairly priced. When time for dessert comes, the... More
