Beet salad, smoked trout dip, mahi mahi were all very good. The coulette was rather tough for me, but the flavor was excellent with the tastiest vegetables. Desserts were also very good. The physical setting is certainly not impressive, but the staff was very friendly and pleasant.

Delicious, er, delightful, restaurant in downtown Durham serves up local foods in imaginative ways. Start with creamy corn chowder with shrimp, finish with risotto, or lamb ravioli, or just about anything else - it is all wonderful. Beautiful presentation, too. Mezzanine may be a bit quieter, as there is lots of wood to bounce sound around on the main floor.... More

The new establishment at Piedmont is offering delicious, imaginative cooking, using locally-sourced ingredients, in a vibrant atmosphere, with exceptional service. These folks really know their wy around a stove. An outstanding dining experience!

Coddled egg appetizer was delicious sand perfectly cooked. Great salad with pecans and blueberries was perfect combination of flavors for a brunch menu item. My dining partner enjoyed his omelet. House made english muffin with fresh strawberry jam was great. Also indulged in a wonderful bloody mary with a shrimp, pickled okra, olive, huge fresh celery stalk and a green... More

Piedmont is proud of its local food sourcing. We hadn't been there for over a year and decided to try it pre-theater as it is very convenient to the Carolina Theater. My husband had a lovely striped bass served atop delicious turned carrots in a slightly sweet sauce and served with whpped potatoes. I opted for risotto with asparagus, garlic,... More

Interesting menu consisting of modern American Cruisine with a twist. Loved the greens salad specially the lemon vinaigrette dressing, and roasted beets but its dressing was a little too sweet. We also liked the pork chops, and the coulotte but it came with only 4 leaves of brussel sprouts its reduction sauce was a little too sweet again. Our server... More

While my wife was pleased with her meal, I wasn't as impressed. I guess I am over the "Oh, we're fancy, so we'll make sure to charge you lots, but give you little". I was disappointed, to say the least.

Bam. The holy trinity. Brisket, bacon-bourbon and breakfast. Bada$$ery. We walked in on a steady Sunday and were greeted/seated by a pleasant gal at the hostess desk. We sat and ordered drinks and an appetizer. I forgot what we got for an appetizer, which is usually telling; but I actually remember it being pretty delicious. They've got some good brunch... More

Meal (risotto for myself and chicken for my wife) was fine; service was good; however, dessert (lemon tart) tasted like fish. Called to question the rest of the meal and how it was prepared/stored. In any event, it soured us on the experience.

Great local restaurant with locally sourced foods that prepares and presents all of their dishes in the best possible way. Properly prepared with just the right seasoning, served at the right temperature and presented nicely by accommodating staff. All in all, a great restaurant.
