Description: Piedmont is first and foremost about the food and the ingredients with respect to the connection between the land and the plate. The cuisine is Contemporary American, seasonally focused and ingredient driven. Our menu changes daily based on what is currently available. Our mission is to provide access to well prepared, sustainably raised, local food. We use only local produce, seafood and meats from sustainable businesses to showcase the diversity of North Carolina foodstuffs. We focus on sourcing the best ingredients from local, sustainable producers with our guide being Coon Rock Farm. We are an elegantly casual restaurant that welcomes both the everyday diner as well as the special occasion gathering.

Was in Durham and wanted a cocktail and of course a steak. I had eaten here before with a group a couple of months ago and we loved it. Not this time. The steak was pretty good...not a lot of taste but my cocktail (tried it twice) was not tasty at all. The service was worse; funny thing, I still... More

Okay, we did not have reservations but simply wanted a quick bite to eat and were happy to be seated at the bar even though there was almost no one seated in the restaurant. Got a couple of glasses of wine - all good - and took a look at the menu. While the farm to table trend is really... More

I had dined here once before several years ago (I live elsewhere in the state) and had thought the menu was pretty limited and my food was nothing special. This time I was meeting new acquaintances who chose the venue and I am glad they chose Piedmont. The service was good and the food was excellent. There were at least... More

This restaurant really deserves a five star rating. Somewhat casual and informal but deserves a top notch mark in food preparation and service. We have traveled throughout the world and this restaurant is right up in the top. Specialty drinks are excellent and not watered down as one finds in many restaurants. Appetizer selection is innovative and the entree selection... More

Ate on business with clients and thoroughly enjoyed. Very good, locally sourced food with attentive staff and interesting menu. Good variety of options for food and drink so something to suit everyone. Was easy to get a table on a Tuesday evening.

Definitely a must when in town. We had a most pleasant experience. The menu while somewhat limited in quantity of selections, nonetheless has enough variety for any palate. And the quality is outstanding. The service was excellent, attentive and engaging. We will certainly return and strongly recommend it if you are looking for high quality dining at a reasonable price.... More

I have been to this restaurant 3 times over the last 2 years. The service is excellent. The menu offers a limited number of items, but are very good items. The preparations are well. Pork Chops are good. So is the steak entree. The sticky date cake is also very nice. They recently renovated to add an upper level to... More

I'm always excited to try local farm to table restaurants around Raleigh/Durham. Had a first date here, and glad I picked it. It's elegant enough to be impressive, but not over the top and pretentious. Would be just as an appropriate place to have a work meeting, out with friends, sit at the bar alone, or whatever. Great friendly and... More

I've eaten at Piedmont twice in the last year. Good items both times, but some dishes that were just mediocre. One person in our party had the duck confit tonight and it was rather disappointing compared to the exceptional and delicious Duck confit at Kitchen in Chapel Hill. The "Lune" (Ravioli) was very creative and showed many great flavors. The... More

Had an amazing meal at Piedmont tonight. Had not been in several years and had heard some great things about it recently and decided to give it another try before a show downtown. It did not disappoint at all. Everything from the appetizers, entrees, to the desserts was phenomenal. Service was very good as well. One of the better meals... More
