It was a joy to get back here and to see that the quality is still great. Good service, good food and a reasonable price, one cannot ask for more,

Their food was good, and their apple martini was really delicious as well. I'd recommend this place for date nights or family nights together. Bit pricey but fun for every so often.

We were looking for a novel family dining experience, and Kanki delivered. We have three daughters (8, 8 and 11), and we are always looking to get the most bang for our buck when we dine out. Kanki did not disappoint. We dined on a Sunday after church, and did not have to wait at all. We were immediately seated,... More

Tried the sushi here and it was the best we've found out of 2 other noted sushi establishments in the area. We did not care for the soup or fried rice, so it is likely that we will not dine here. However, the sushi was FRESH and FLAVORFUL!

Our family was traveling from Knoxville, TN to Nags Head and stopped overnight in Durham. This restaurant was across the street from our hotel, so we a dinner there. We had a very nice experience overall. It was a busy Friday night. The tables were full, so we were seated in the bar area. Our server was great--giving us good... More

I was staying nearby on business and walked to Kanki sitting at the Sushi Bar. Jin is a great chef! He made very good suggestions and everything was delicious! Enjoy your visit!

I had a fantastic time at Kanki on a recent visit to Chapel Hill/Durham. A big group of us went to celebrate a friend's birthday. As always, the hibachi food was solid. The highlight, though, was our chef - QUOC!!!!! He was a master showman, interacting with each guest, smiling, and providing a hilarious stream of snappy patter and jokes.... More

We decided to eat here during our one night stay in Durham because it was a short walk from our hotel... The restaurant is large, clean, and pretty much what you would expect if you have ever been in a Japanese steakhouse before... There are three seating areas: The Sushi bar, regular table dining, and Hibachi dining... We opted for... More

For those who never encountered real Japanese food, this place may seem okay. I suggest that folk avoid the fake soup (just chicken soup with mushrooms -- NOT Japanese at all). Avoid the Salad (strange dressing that kills your taste buds -- not Japanese at all). Sushi is above average, that I admit. But other items, such has hibachi steak... More
