Great BBQ

Had a wonderful dinner - casual, ate at a picnic table outside which was nice but meant we were missing the great music inside. The smoked turkey was excellent as were the brisket, creamed spinach and hush puppies. Less excellent was the pulled pork. overall a wonderful bbq experience

The size of the crowds at this restaurant suggest that many people enjoy its preparation. Several of the items we tried were top level quality, especially the ribs and the peach cobbler. As seems to be typical at barbecue restaurants the sides are nothing special. Things like macaroni and cheese and barbecue beans reflect a desire to produce edible, but... More

Crowded parking lot, good sign. Smell of smoke, enticing. Walk inside and bluegrass band picking and strumming and sounding great. Menu board with lots of selections, pulled or chopped pork, brisket, ribs. Tried them all and was forced to over eat. Chopped pork tender and lean, great flavor. Brisket was fall apart smokey goodness. Ribs are best I have had... More

Great ribs. I have eaten at this place on several occations. I was never disappointed with the food. Always perfectly cooked. Falling off the bone. Really good flavor. There are several other Q shacks, but this one is the best !

Best ribs, best brisket and best hush puppies we have tasted in our travels in NC. A must if you are in the area.

Stopped here with my son on the way to the airport and we were glad we did. We had St. Louis ribs and brisket both were good and tender and had nice smokey flavor. Loved the sides, mac & cheese, potato salad, creamed spinach and especially liked the crisp cole slaw. I wish I had a place like this near... More

A wonderful place if you in the mood for smokey flavors. Everything is good.Ribs, brisket is chili rubbed and smokey. Everything is smoked in house with hickory and mesquite wood. Sides are really good- salad has avocado and egg with romaine lettuce. Mac and Cheese is creamy, hush puppies are light and flavorful. Bottled beer and some Boylen Bottled sodas... More

Go early, went at 11:25, only 8 people on line, but 11:45 parking lot fill and all eating outside despite the rain and weather. Brisket was the most tender, tasteful and perfect.

The pulled pork at the Q Shack is probably some of the moistest I've ever had in North Carolina. The portions are generous and you have your choice of sauces, including a really nice vinegar pork sauce, which I am not a huge fan of but this one is more subtle than most. And then there are the hush puppies.... More

This place has a lot of options for food. Turkey, Beef Brisquet, Pork Butt, St Louis Ribs. You can get a sandwich, plate, or even salad. Most of the plates comes with 2 sides and hush puppies. I tried the st louis ribs for $15. It was great. So was the beef brisqut. Threee different sauces to choose from. Sides... More
