We ate here on September 8th and I was extremely disappointed. I was expecting Barbeque, but maybe this is a different style of barbeque and I'm just not there. Anyway: Ribs - pretty good - fatty Pulled pork - horrible probably the worst I've every had. Floating in some kind of sauce with a sour taste. One bite for my... More

We stopped here to eat while on a UNC college tour and couldn't have been more happy. We loved the picnic tabled outdoor porch. The microbrews they carried were excellent. The ribs were fantastic w just the right balance of sauce. The hush puppies were the best I've had yet. We are from the North where hush puppies are hard... More

Brisket, chopped or sliced pork, turkey bar-b-que all good with generous sides. My favorite, fried okra, but potato salad, baked beans and jalapeno deviled eggs! Choice of beers, including Shiners. Outdoor seating at picnic style tables. Not fancy, but good eats and reasonable prices. They also do take-out and offer pricing for groups.

This is my go to spot for BBQ and ribs. New places come around and I try them but usually they disappoint. The Q Shack in Durham never fails. Always good ribs. Always good sides. Atmosphere isn't fancy at all but the food is great and consistent.

Though Q-Shack is smack dab in the middle of vinegar-based North Carolina barbeque country, they have nothing to be ashamed about in serving their very fine Texas-style versions. In those distant parts, brisket and smoked sausages share pride of place on barbecue menus. Q Shack does those meats (plus smoked ham and turkey breast) to perfection. Their sides are delicious,... A couple friends and I dined here on a busy Friday evening. The parking lot was completely full, so we had to ride around for a couple minutes to wait for a parking spot to become available. I drove us across the street as there are several shops. Signs are posted: "If you park here and walk across the street,... More

No frills here. The dining room is not great. But, I always get takeout, so that doesn't matter. The food is very good. Lots more than just pork barbecue. The brisket is great, so is the turkey. The sides are fantastic - the jack cheese cream spinach is one of my faves.

This was a great BBQ joint. The portions were big and prices were great. I got the Q Cobb salad and my man friend got the pulled chicken sandwich. He said the bread was delish and we both loved the hush puppies. A yummy place to eat some good grub!

This is one of the best places for BBQ in NC. The brisket is great, the mac & cheese is wonderful, and the BBQ sauce is really good. Parking is tight and the seating is limited for the business they do.....but if you are in the Durham area this is a must stop!

We agree with the reviews. This was a great place for barbeque. We tried the pulled pork and chicken. The flavor was very good, but the chicken was dry. We couldn't pass up sampling the great sides and ordered baked beans, sweet potato tater tots, collard greens, fried okra, deviled eggs and peach cobbler. All were very tasty. The hush... More
