We love this restaurant, it reminds us of Paris down to the closeness of the tables. The food is always good and the Pomme Frittes are the best -- I don't even usually like French Fries, but these are great. It is not a place to go on a diet. This is a special occasion place for us and we... More

The food was very good for five of the six of us who were eating. The Flounder special was just OK. The frisee salad was outstanding as were the other salads. The steaks and other beef dishes were moderate in portion size but were well cooked and with great flavors. The three desserts we all had were excellent. The service... More

This was the cherry on top of our trip to the Durham area. Can't say enough about the restaurant, service, and the food. The restaurant is charming, if a little loud with odd music. The front "Bistro" section is probably the liveliest area; so if loud music, noisy conversation, and a little smoke from the kitchen will bother you, better... More

The waite staff was excellent and allowed my family to enjoy the food quality withoutbeing distracted. We really did not know what to expect but tried the experience anyway since it was in an area with other good good restaurants. The Chef and bartender were very attentive and supported the great and friendly service provided by Shaun. Thank you for... More

We went to Vin Rouge on a Friday night and had reservations for 6:30. We were greeted promptly and taken to a table in the back room. If you are requesting a table, I would suggest that you ask for something off of the main room. It is much cozier. Our waitress was efficient and helped us select a red... More

never have had a bad meal here. Same for the consistently good service. Make sure to make reservations as it is quite popular.

This, in my opinion, is the best restaurant in the triangle. Not only is the food really good but the service is outstanding. Can't decide if the food or the service is better. The Wait staff are very knowledgeable in paring wine with your meal. Very relaxed even with linen table coverings. Not so formal you can't enjoy everything.

We loved Vin Rouge so much on our first visit. We had a terrific waitress and the meal was divine! I had the mussels and frites (they do need to have mayonnaise or aioli in true French fashion, though!) and my Husband had the fish special. Wine list is wonderful and our server was great. Our second visit was three... More

I'd only go back to Vin Rouge for drinks and appetizers - we had three apps (shrimp, clams, and a country pate) between the two of us and they were all very tasty. The a la carte main dish that followed was below par (a tasteless gruyere macaroni and cheese with soggy lardons) and once you add in a vegetable,... More
