I am so glad that I decided to try out Vin Rouge on my business trip to the Durham area. This is one of the best french restaurants that I've been to. I had the escargot which were perfectly cooked (very tender) and seasoned. For my main dish, I ordered the Ribeye au Poivre and it was really good. The... More

Vin Rouge is probably our favorite place in Durham. We especially like sitting at the bar and eating the oysters and other small plates. Although, occasionally we will go for a full meal there or at a table. The oysters on the have shell selection is always good. So are the specialty cocktails and wines.

Amazing setting, one of my favorite date/nicer spots in Triangle. service is immaculate. French onion soup, salads, and sea food are consistently excellent.

I typically don't review restaurants in my home town, but I have been here enough times and loved it each time that I had to give credit where credit is due. The service here is consistently attentive, but not overly so. You're able to enjoy a nice casual dining experience without feeling rushed. The food is fantastic. Some of my... More

The specialty of the house is fruits de mer, especially moules (mussels). We each started our meal with a bowl of moules, but with different tastes added to the usual white wine base. The favorite was chorizo, followed by dijon and traditional. I then ordered bouillabaise, which was good but I was still in moule heaven. Excellent french wine list,... More

We go to Durham several times a year to visit friends. We enjoyed dining out in many of the new restaurant options this city is gradually offering. This time we went to Vin Rouge, which is not a new place and has great reviews. While the place is elegantly decorated and our server was truly friendly, the quality of the... More

What an absolutely charming French Bistro located in Durham near the Duke Campus and eclectic 9th Street. The menu is extensive and selections prepared as one would expect of any fine dining restaurant in Paris or major metropolitan area. Wine pairings are extensive. Reservations are a must, especially on the weekends. It was a splendid Saturday anniversary celebration and we... More

This place has it all. Ambiance is amazing. Feels just like France. The service was fun and professional at the same time. The food is not all that creative but the flavors are soooo good! The wine selection is extensive and well priced. The somm knows his stuff too. Next time I'll sit outside if it's not too hot.

I came at 9.45pm while their working hours is until 10pm. Yet they accepted me to sit and eat. I had a wonderful piece of pork, cooked rightly with crispy skin, accompanied by a glass of nice red wine. It was a warm summer night and they have outdoor seating.

We travel to Duke Med Center a couple of times a year. Whenever we go, we make it a point to dine at Vin Rouge. We have never been disappointed in either the food or the service and treasure our meals here. Reservations are a must but well worth the effort!
