Went here on a recommendation and very glad we did! Very friendly staff. The menu had a surprising amount of variety. I had the sweet potato and bean burrito and it was probably the best burrito I've ever had.

One of the better diners I have been to. Good food, good service, good prices, and 50's type atmosphere make this a good cheap dining choice. An equally good choice for a family breakfast, lunch or dinner or a post-party all night kick the hangover breakfast. The menu has tons of options to satisfy every craving or meal idea. Just... More

I had the baked French toast and my friend had the specialty pancakes. Both were delicious and I appreciate that depending on when you go the specialties change. The staff was friendly and efficient. We really enjoy the ambience of the place as we'll.

Great for everyone in your group! Great food...a real variety of choices. Great for vegans and vegetarians. Comfortable seating, and an exceptional staff. A great choice any time of day.

Whenever we travel to Duke Med Center, we try to stop at Elmo's. My husband loves their pancakes and country ham. I love their veggie plates and their biscuits (heavenly).

Just moved to Durham and came here for lunch with family. They serve breakfast all day! The shrimp and grits are fantastic, and my husband loved his cheese burger! We'll definitely be regulars!

Had an early dinner here. Arrived at 4:30, so no wait and very attentive service by a pleasant, knowledgable waiter. Cute, clean, homey place with crayons and coloring pages for the kids and breakfast all day. (We saw several breakfasts served. ) Meatloaf was dry and bready. Mushroom gravy on the side was gelatinous, so I asked for the alternate... More

Was in Durham and a friend recommended Elmo's. We arrived for breakfast and the place was closed. It was 10am and some cars were in the lot waiting so we assumed it had to be great. Wait staff was friendly but seemed disorganized and the food was good but we just weren't overly impressed. Good little local joint though!

Not only did this place have an incredibly large menu, they had an incredibly great tasting menu. Our table of 6 ordered everything from pancakes to burritos to a clubhouse to a vegatarian chili. We came here after touring Duke's campus and loved it. Only complaint was our server seemed less than enthused to be working that day.

I wanted to wait to write a review until we had more than one experience with Elmo's. I can now say that both times were very good. The prices are excellent. The choices were very good and the food was good as well. I like the fact that there are lots of selections on the menu. We have two people... More
