Stopped here for dinner. They have a wide selection on the menu. All food was good and tasted fresh. You can even order a beer. We would like to stop here for breakfast sometime as that looked delicious. Watch your parking as other restaurants will tow your car if you eat at Elmo's .

This is such a cozy, traditional-style, diner. They have coffee while you wait for your table (as it is so busy in the mornings). I live in Raleigh and try to make any excuse to be in Durham early on a weekend morning just to go. The shrimp and grits are a must-try.

We ate Sunday brunch here with friends while visiting our daughter at Duke. Just a few blocks from East Campus and the food was delicious. I had the breakfast burrito and my daughter had chocolate chip pancakes. Others had eggs, etc. and everyone enjoyed their food. I will note that we were concerned that there would be a long wait... I love Elmo's! For delicious, everyday food, you can't beat it. I am not a vegetarian, but I even like those choices. It's fresh, affordable, and very tasty. I love the tomato basil soup especially.

If you are a foodie like I am, you find local places that are a "goto" for bringing friends or guests that enjoy well cooked fast served meals. Elmo's is the epitome of this fare. I have lived in durham for over 4 years now and have brought multiple experts with me and without question they all have been impressed... More

Good, homey food in a casual atmostphere. Perfect for families and the Sat and Sunday brunch is wonderful after the farmer's market.

I really enjoy the diner environment, its hard to find good ones in the area. The food is great and reasonably priced. We've only eaten breakfast though, cause you can have it at anytime of the day. Do have to say the french toast made with sunflower seed bread is delicious. Also, the service is very good but it can... More

Whenever I am that side of town I eat at Elmo's (now that George's is gone). Great breakfasts any time and super service. The hot turkey and roast beef sandwiches are standbys and their fries are too good to pass up. Great mashed potatoes and the broccoli casserole is awesome. Some foods are very spicy but it clearly says so... More

We stopped in on our journey North and were very pleased we did. Service was quick and friendly. Food was very, very good. We had the Homade Turkey Plate and I totally suggest ya all to try it. Parking is a little tight but don't let that stop you.

We found Elmo's diner the first night we were in Durham and ate there 3 times in three days. The first meal was on a weeknight and it was very good. The menu has diner basics but some more adventurous selections too. The next two days we ate breakfast at Elmo's. If you want good home cookin', venture to Elmo's.
