Gem in Downtown Durham

This cozy spot is usually one of my favorite lunch choices, but yesterday we stopped in to grab a quick bite during their Sunday brunch. We had one hour to eat and get to the train station. When we realized that there was a wait, we told the hostess that we would just go somewhere else since we... read more

A decent place for breakfast in downtown Durham. The biscuit and egg dish is good (though I've had better biscuits), and the atmosphere is relaxed.

I stumbled into this place somewhat accidentally, and I have to say I am glad I did. I did not eat here, but my latte was fantastic. My father's espresso was excellent. When it comes to Italian style espresso, we are very picky-- having lived in and visited Italy a lot. The place seemed cozy for jazz nights ( there... More

My review was based on two trips to the Beyu Caffe. My morning choice was a special coffee drink of the day - Peppermint Bark latte. I loved that they had a soy option. For lunch I had a veggie plate with each of the vegetables cooked to perfection - not over cooked or wilted. We had six people at... More

This place is bright young and sophisticated in otherwise gloomy downtown Durham. The service is good the breakfast that I had was good to even though the omllet was prepared with too much oil. And the flow? You don't expect from a restaurant like this to charge you almost a full price on a refill of a cup of coffee.

I can't name a better place to hold a business meeting or meet a client. This place has great food, great service and free fast wifi - what else could you ask for??

The setup is ideal for a small band - you can get close and the sound is perfect. Make sure you get a reservation for whomever is playing that night. We didn't eat here - but the drink service was great for a Saturday night.

I have previously given Beyu a good review, but I now feel compelled to update that one. We took friends from Germany there for breakfast a couple of weeks ago (on a weekday) and had poor to mediocre food and service. They had no hollandaise sauce for the eggs benedictine, they were out of biscuits (we were offered, shudder, white... More

Stopped by for a quick breakfast before boarding the Amtrak train. Cafe latte was excellent, but they didn't have any biscuits (!!!!) and the croissant I had instead was just mediocre.

A very good environment, good selection of food, especially desserts. I have had small entrees (grits & shrimp) as well as the desserts. There is live music, usually Jazz. It is a very good setting to wind down the day.
