We have traveled to central Mexico on a number of occasions and know that real Mexican food has little to nothing to do with Tex-Mex food. Dos Perros is much more on the authentic Mexican style using a variety of meats: lamb, duck, pork, a variety of seafood, etc. My wife and I had the Cochinita Pibil, a Mayan-style pork... More

Dropped by for an early dinner with a friend on Friday night. They were already busy at 5:30, but no problem getting a table. Chips and salsa are fresh and plentiful. The menu is fairly limited. My friend ordered several appetizers and I had the vegan enchiladas. I'm not vegan, but most of the entrees are heavy on meat and... More

This was one of the best Mexican Restaurants in NC. Food is wonderful. Not the usual tacos and burritos, but duck legs, lamb and great braised dishes. Experience a different taste of Latin Cuisine at this restaurant. You will not be disappointed. Can't wait to get back there.

The loudest restaurant in the Research a Triangle. Good food spoiled by a deafening environment. A lovely old timely ceiling that would look a lot better with some noise baffles. Too many young screamers for me.

Start with the guacamole. A nice balance to the spicy salsa served at the table. I had a shrimp dish that was excellent. The wife tried the vegetable chilli relliano (sp) and it was also excellent as well. Servers were very friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to respond to our needs. Definitely would go back there.

As was written by other reviewers, the margaritas are very good. For what claims to be an authentic Mexican restaurant, I was surprised that there was only one chicken dish, with a lot of steak and pork. That aside everything was very good, with the exception of a deep fried shrimp dish which didn't please. Chips, salsa, quesadillas, calamari and... More

My coworker and I stopped in to try out a new location to host a work dinner. The margaritas were really good, the quesadillas and tacos were amazing, and the guacamole was some of the best I've ever had. The only thing that was average were the chips.

We ate at Dos Perros mainly because it's a block and a half from the Durham Performing Arts Center where we were seeing a concert. It was a Sunday evening and "taco night" at the restaurant. This allowed us to mix and match soft taco fillings (each cost $3). We started with different kinds of margaritas (there are classic versions... More

After a lot of recommendations, we tried Dos Perros- looking for authentic Mexican in the Triangle. The food was good, but the menu is pretty limited and not much of what I would call traditional. Rather, a number of special house recipes. Everything tasted very good, nice rich flavors and good size portions but not what we were looking for... More
