One of the best bar/hamburger places in town

They are known for their hamburgers, but I tried a sausage dog all the way and tomato soup. Dog was nice, not the best I've had but the soup was super! Funny thing, I asked the bartender if it was home made, she was honest and said it was regular Cambells but they

Gotta love the artifacts from Dain's childhood all over the walls. The decor is awesome, screaming "I'm a bar full of love!" The only downside, which sort of comes with the neighborhood, is that sometimes it's overflowing with Duke grad students -- especially on trivia night, which is a blast if you can get a seat. But hey, even the... More

If your thirst is dry and longing for a micro brew or otherwise seeking worldly brands, don't hesitate to visit Dain's on 9th Street in Durham, NC, the grand home of Duke University just down the road from the legendary NC State University and University of North Carolina. The selection is such that it's hard to make a decision. It... More

The vibe is unpretentious and casual. The staff knows their beer and the food is a step up from normal bar food. The Dainator is worth every messy drip you have to lick off your fingers.

I had to back for all the right reasons - great local crafts on tap and the burgers are killer - Dain's burger with some crabby tots - just do it I don't live in Durham, but if I did, this would be my hometown bar

There are some great burger joints in Durham, and Dain's--though primarily a bar--is among the best. The burgers are huge, flavorful, and loaded with toppings. And they are accompanied by crunchy tater tots that are fantastic.

Great neighborhood bar. The owner went to Purdue which I did too so I like going there to hang out especially during basketball time. Good beer selection. Great burgers and love the tater tots.

I did not eat at Dain's, but I did have a couple of drinks. The atmosphere of the place was nice and laid back. Our server was awesome and very knowledgeable about the area. They also had a nice beer selection. I recommend that you give this place a try, even if it is only for a few drinks.

It's a very "hole in the wall" kind of place, nothing fancy. But they have a ton of different beers, the bartenders/waiters are super friendly, and the food was very good. It's a very simple menu: burger, chicken sandwich, or hot dog. Then there is a list of about 30 different toppings so it's very customized. They also have fries... More

Love this place, awesome food, get cheesy bacon tots. Staff is honest, blunt, friendly and funny. The atmosphere is great and if you feel out of place here its your own doing, all are welcome here.
