Very Good & Unusual Mexican Eatery!

Limited but very good menu, many items are spicy but they will hold back on the heat. Very good margaritas. Outstanding deserts.

Our group eats here every time we meet. Wonderful margaritas (especially the blood orange). Recommend the brisket and the shrimp tacos. Wait staff is terrific!

Dined here twice in last two months while in town on business. Great food both times. High ceilings make it a bit noisy but we were still able to have dinner conversation. The guacamole was outstanding. Portions are generous and service was excellent.

Generally good quality, good service and some creativity, but overall pretty standard American food with a slight Mexican flavor hear and there. If you have ever eaten in an upscale mexican restaurant in the Southwest states, you will be a bit let down. They tame things down quite a bit and tone it down for southerners.

I ate at Mez with four co-workers. We chose it because it was close to the hotel we were staying at. Mexican food was the last thing on my list, coming from California, but I was outvoted by all the young guys in my party, besides, I was riding in their car! The setting was typical outdoor mall kind of... More

This is advertised as an "upscale" Mexican restaurant - okay, I get that, but... the prices took my breath away and they do not offer free chips. When we said something about the chips, the waiter said "sorry, but we offer them as an appetizer." So, we decided to order the guacamole. What they brought us was a massive bowl... More

When out of town friends come to Raleigh Durham for work and I have the opportunity to meet them at a nearby hotel, I take them to Mez for dinner. It is convenient to the airport hotels. I had the carne asada special with a cole slaw over cheese grits. The blood orange maragarita and ginger margarita were excellent cocktails... More

Great food, great ambience but noticed an air of arrogance in customer service. Yes, we know you are good but no need to rub it in the face. Be a little more polite and it will take you further. Again, great food.

Met some friends here for dinner. Everything that everyone had was good, from chips to tacos. I ordered the Brisket - if you like brisket you have to try Mez's. Huge piece of meat and great flavor.

Called in for a light lunch. Nice surroundings and very quiet on a Saturday mid-afternoon. I only wanted a drink and something small to eat so sat at the bar. Ordered a small salad with pumpkin seeds and it was really tasty and it was the right size when you don't need a big meal. Wish the young waitress hadn't... More
