Good Food but not typical mexican

I like Mez. The food is very good. It is upscale food with a very mexican flair. This is not one of the many raleigh area quick mexican places. There are some very neat options on the menu and all have been good. A co-worker ordered the NY strip and it looked really good, (much better than he... read more

We stopped in for dinner during the week and snagged the last available table. The food came out amazingly fast. I would have appreciated a little more time with our appetizer before dinner was served. Our drinks were tasty. My husband enjoyed his salmon. My brisket was huge, enough for two full meals. It was a little dry but not... More

While the presentation of our entre was artfully done, the meals themselves were not good. To begin with, the caesar salad simply did not taste like caesar salad. The greens were obviously fresh but the taste was not what I have come to look forward to. We had the brisket and the broiled fish on mushroom flautas. The fish was... More

Afternoon late lunch. Fast seated, friendly waitress. Fast served sile fresh baked Nacho chips and a tray of 3 type of salsa... Then order came..good but not spectacular... We ate it all, kids licked their plates... I found a weird taste in the hot fresh bakes nachos.. Which reminded me of old fryer.. Well...am not sick, so are my kids...not... More

Have been here couple of times for lunch both business. A favorite choice for many colleagues due to close proximity to office. Always appear very crowded. Food was decent. Have some unique Mexican offerings.

Went with friends. We pretty much got ignored and got average tasting food for the higher price. Haven't gone there since and don't plan to.

Great food and service! I was there with a large group for a business dinner and the staff were accommodating for some specific diet requests and order changes. Really great atmosphere--will definitely be staple for future trips to Durham.

Good (not great) Mexican, though the grilled avocado with shrimp was very tasty. Ho-hum chips and guac/salsa. Pricier than I would have expected, but the interior explains that. But -- and here's my major gripe -- my business colleague and I flew into RDU, took a cab to Mez to meet a local colleague for lunch, and we got in... More

Went to Durham for a concert and stayed at Hotel Indigo. The front desk staff recommended MEZ. It is a very beautiful(upscale) Mexican restaurant. The outside and inside are beautiful. You are paying for that beauty. This is the first Mexican restaurant I have ever been in where you don’t get complimentary chips and dip. In fact anything you get... More

Nice place for dinner with friends, team etc. It's a big place with a lot of room. The food taste was good. I tried the chicken Quesadilla and others tried some other dishes, and everyone seemed to like theirs. Their "Jarritos" soft drinks seem good - I tried the mango flavored one and loved it. I did a take out... More
