Great place for lunch

A small venue in downtown Durham. Good choices for lunch items. Tasty salads and sandwiches. Hasn't been disappointed so far. A little expensive for frequent visits.

I have never had chicken and waffles, I'm glad this was my first time here!! The service is great, even when they were slammed! The food is way above average chicken and waffles!!

As part of the Taste of Durham food tour, our guide said that this restaurant has "bold" food. We were served a crostini with warm goat cheese, honey, and black pepper with a thimbleful of Calabrian onion soup. The soup was fantastic; the crostini just so so.

This was a super cute spot downtown. You go up the counter, place your order with the super friendly staff, and then wait (a long time) for your food. We had the chicken panini and the prosciutto panini and the spicy lentil soup. We both thought the chicken panini was really yummy. The prosciutto panini was disappointing and both of... More

I’ve gone to Toast multiple times over the years and it has never disappointed. The interesting menu offers up all manner of delectables, from soups to salads and sandwiches, all freshly prepared and with combinations/ingredients not readily found elsewhere. Toast also has a relaxed vibe, with the emphasis on offering great value for high quality food. Like many of the... More

Did a crostinis and soup combination. Very good, had caponata, goat cheese and mozzerella/pesto. You place your order and find a seat. Very busy place.

I loved Toast. A friend from Durham took me there and it was a wonderful experience. The panini I got was one of the best I've ever had and the side salad ($2 extra) was great - very fresh and sizeable. My fiancee's butternut squash soup was also delicious, and I don't even like soup. I don't know when I'll... More

Cute lil lunch spot in downtown. Very friendly staff. Really liked that they're locally owned & offer items that are locally sourced. Noticed you could purchase their salad dressing, bottled, for home. Menu is Italian with a Spanish influence. Food was quite flavorful, portion sizes are just okay, (sandwiches could have had a little more substance). Reasonably priced. A tad... More

You might need to brush up on your Italian a little bit before you go, but this place is wonderful. Some of the cleanest and freshest tasting food you will find. It's a must try.
