If a special evening of dining is in your plans, look no further than Kimball’s Kitchen, formerly the Left Bank. Located on the Soundside of the Sanderling Resort, Kimball’s offers glorious view of the Currituck Sound and its inspiring sunsets, outstanding service and a world class menu. Kimball’s Kitchen offers everything that is special about both the Sanderling and the Outer Banks. Spotlighting local, grass-fed prime steaks, freshly caught local seafood, and an extensive raw bar selection, the restaurant creates a great dining experience with an upscale coastally casual environment. Of particular note are the numerous varieties of local oysters and the classic seafood tower, with a daily changing list of locally caught fish and seafood. Daily pasta and risotto specials are accompanied by an extensive Wine Spectator wine and champagne list. Children are welcome and are served smaller portions of the standard menu with a 50% price break.

Delicious food, great service and stunning view of the sound-- how could you get any better? They also made a killer Bloody Mary with siracha and few ash horseradish... Yum. Next time we are on the outer banks I will definitely put them in rotation for dinner!

K. kitchen was a huge disappointment. The food was less than mediocre. I had the lobster bisque which was the worst I've ever had in my life. The flavor was very foreign and the lobster base seemed too strong or even off. Also it was pureed and contained no lobster meat. Risotto was my entree. It was just ok, way... More

Sitting on the west side of the outer banks, overlooking the water, this restaurant is lovely. The simplicity of the restaurant lens a high level of class. The food, service and atmosphere was fabulous. Dinner while the sunsets is a special treat. This is a place to savor the meal. An unexpected treat before the meal and after only added to... More

Chef Lawrence is a master at culinary arts... whole meal was great, with a few morsels added to our fare.

The folks at Kimball's a Kitchen have the knack of combining all of the elements of fine dining and serving them up on a totally non-stuffy atmosphere. It's hard to describe how perfectly Lisa cared for our every need, even offering great suggestions and advice when asked. And she did it all with a sense of humor. Even Sean (Shawn?)... More

My husband and I ate here while staying in Duck. We were given a window seat (which are the best in the restaurant). The evening was perfect for the dinner, the sunset was amazing that night. Out of all the restaurants I have been to in Duck, this is the best to see the sunset and also the most romantic.... More

They seemed to be in a rush, or that you were a bother. Maybe they were gearing down for the winter close at the end of October.

Kimball's is the place for that special night out with your other half. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is refined, and if you happen to catch a great sunset that is just icing on the cake. You will, however, pay for your pleasure as it is also one of the most expensive places on the OBX. The OBX has... More

My wife and I celebrated our 10th year wedding anniversary at Kimball’s Kitchen in Duck, NC. We made reservations through “Open Table,” an online web reservation service. Through Open Table, you set the time, and there is a little window to add a “note” to accompany your reservation. I put in the note that we were celebrating our 10th year... More

This is an incarnation of what was the Left Bank, an upscale French restaurant. It is now rather common; albeit, it w/ superb views. Do we have to be treated to men wearing ball caps & women in thongs & beach attire? The menu is limited, but the fish of the day was pleasant & the oysters fresh. All sides... More

Thank you for your review. While we want to deliver a stellar culinary meal and top notch service it would not be fair to compare the two because it's in the same building. They are definitely different concepts and experiences. Thank you for giving it a try and we will continue to work to make it great. More
