During mid December many restaurants were closed and we were glad Roadside was open. It was recommended to us as a good place that many locals frequent. The clam chowder is well seasoned with tasty clams and fresh spices like thyme. My husband enjoyed seared scallops as a appetizer and Caesar salad. Staff was friendly and atmosphere was fun and... My husband and I have been coming here for 13 years, and it's never been bad! From their chowder to their BLT, and the fish tacos that shouldn't be a special but added to their menu. Once is never enough to eat here during our trip. Sit at the bar and chat with the locales, it's a great way to... More

We tried this place because of the great reviews on this site. After reading the reviews, how could we go wrong? I asked the hostess about their steamed shrimp, specifically, if it was fresh. She assured me it was and that 'we sell so much shrimp it is ridiculous!'. I ordered 2 pounds @$20 lb. Paid $48 with tax and... More

The exterior of this place suggests a roadside dive bar. Don't let appearances deceive you. While the atmosphere is very casual and laid back, this place offers some of the best fine dining on the Outer Banks. Their delightfully unexpected interpretation of the old standard ocean restaurant oyster stew may be the single best item on a menu in the... More

I was in the mood for casual bar food. This place has a small but somewhat fancy looking menu. So I started off disappointed but was pleasantly surprised. The shrimp and grits was amazing. The peel and eat shrimp was amazing. It is a somewhat small bar/restaurant but cool and cozy atmosphere. I would definitely go again if in the... More

Great service and decent food on a nice patio. No real complaints though the food wasn't really memorable.

So this place was right down the street from out beach house, stopped in for dinner on a Wednesday night. first, the dirt parking lot in back in horrible, I don't know how your car doesn't get banged up back there the parking is so tight. Second we went in and asked for a high chair. The waitress acted annoyed... More

This is my favorite restaurant in Duck, ate there twice in 4 days. Not much from the outside, but don't let that fool you. The food is fabulous, must try the scallops.
