I had read all the reviews, and as it appeared it wouldn't suit our taste for dinner, we chose to enjoy pre dinner drinks there, and dine elsewhere for dinner. Worked well for us, their deck faces the sound so you get the sunsets, nice bar, although if you want a nice quiet bar scene, go elsewhere. This one gets... More

Restaurant is right on the water and Deck is over the Sound. Sunset views are spectacular from inside or on the deck. Food was unexpectedly good, and servers were efficient and friendly even though they were very busy. Food was reasonably priced, well prepared and looked good when brought to the table. Will go back in the future and ate... More

Great idea but needs a change in attitude. Staff seemed friendly, but slow .Menu very pricey and limited. Really enjoyed the she crab soup, and clam chowder, tuna sandwich, and Oysters St Thomas. Never ordered off the dinner menu $$$ I guess the question is how much value you put on that sunset.

We ate here for our rehearsal dinner and loved it! The food was great and the service was good as well. They had beautiful views and great food. Would be back!

This is my 4th visit to Sunset Grille and they do have one of the best locations in terms of a view of the Sound. The food is always good, but if you're eating inside, the décor is really tired. I think it is best experienced eating outdoors for lunch on a nice, sunny day. Great place to just kick-back... More

Beautiful place to see the sunset but crowded and noisy, kids crying etc. Food was OK, mostly fried fare.

My husband and I were finally on a date night away from our kids...so we went out. We thought Sunset was a great option...couldn't have been more wrong. Food was terrible...from the slow service (no one greeted us for about 10 minutes) to over done greasy calamari to bent forks and cheap plastic "dipping containers" I would 100% pick another... More

My wife and I decided to stop for dinner since it looked like an cool place nestled right on the bay. At night they surround the place in lit tiki torches, and the view of the sunset is amazing. Unfortunately that is where it stops. The food was way over priced for the quality you receive. All of our food... More

PERHAPS the best location on the outer banks to watch the sunset and boy are they packed for every sunset. its a beautiful location and a very nice facility. great outside area too. My advice would be to just have drinks. The food is what I call " tourist classic " uninspired sysco food. Umm also if you walk to... More

Was there Thursday September 11, 2014 to watch the sunset and have dinner with friends. First there was a wait (that is ok...not too long maybe 20 -30 mins)....we are seated at a great table out on the deck....though SMOKERS wanted to stand right behind us that was horrible. Waiter seemed a little confused...took 10-15 mins for first round of... More
