Seriously good food

The Outerbanks is teeming with seafood and so few restaurants cook it right...Paper Canoe is the exception...it's the best. We've summered here for over 20 years and this is the one restaurant that gets it right every time. Book early, the word is out..people who know good food come here first.

We had dinner twice at Paper Canoe during our October week in Duck, and both times were delicious. We found this restaurant through Trip Advisor in May, and went again in August and October. Each visit delivered consistently good food, and warm, friendly service. My Mom had the ravioli, because several reviews raved about it, and she thoroughly enjoyed it.... More

Recommend by the owner of the house we rented. It was actually the last day it was open for the season. Was a little worried but the choice was ample and multiple specials were available. All 3 of us got shrimp stuffed with crab.(boring)Two of the group thought it was the best they ever had.I thought it was very good.Soup also... More

We had the most delicious meal of our stay at the Paper Canoe. 3 of us had the Hog Snapper Special, 1 the lobster salad and 1 the duck confit flatbread. The fish was prepared perfectly with amazing sauces to accompany them. We passed our compliments on to the chef! Our server Brad was excellent, with great knowledge of the... More

We dined there with the grandchildren so we were there right after 5 PM. They are only open for dinner. The food was great, they do not have a children's menu but the made pasta with cheese and butter, the kids loved it. The desserts are fabulous, we licked the plate.

We chose this as it was almost opposite the Sanderling Resort where we stayed and it had some good reviews. We reserved a table and we advise that you do as it was full around prime sunset time 6.30 pm. The mains were good, sheepshead fish and yellow-tail snapper. However the lobster salad was one of the best lobster dishes... More

We are lucky enough to own a home in Corolla and have eaten in all the best places up and down the beach. The Paper Canoe is hands down our favorite. Not only is the menu inventive and well executed but the service is spot on and the atmosphere is just the right combination of beachy rustic and upscale. The... More

My family visited for Dinner on October 22nd, lots of locals recommend this spot. Our server Brad, was impeccable, detailed and top notch. We loved the Little Neck Clams and I had some of the best shrimp and grits I've ever had (and I'm from Georgia!) We will recommend this place and return next chance we get. Love love love... More

When we called to request a table, we paused when told our 4top would need to wait til 8:30. It was worth the wait. Attentive service with a great sunset view at the inter-coastal waterway's shore. As gardebers and cooks, we were very pleased with crisp french green beans and roasted carrots, al dente and well seasoned. The seafood entrees... More
