Definitely wanted to try some Carolina BBQ while at the Outer Banks. We were at the lighthouse did a quick search and this restaurant was highly recommended. We soon saw why! I had the chicken which had a delicious dry rub and my friend had the pulled pork dinner on which she tried 3 different sauces- the best of which... More

I do like Carolina-style BBQ, but am not crazy about it...still prefer Texas brisket...but this was really good. We ordered take-out from them twice. Had the cornbread, potato salad, beans, etc...all good eating.

Got takeout for dinner on our last night at OBX. Shared among the adults and kids were pulled pork platters with pasta salad, candied yams, cornbread and a half rack of ribs. The kids loved the pork and ribs although they did not like the bbq sauce (this one was vinegar-based and they prefer the tomato-based kind). The adults thought... More

Some of the best BBQ in OBX. This small BBQ stand offers great takeout. It is off the beaten path in old Corolla Village, near the lighthouse.Recommend you try it once.

Had the pulled pork. Was amazing and loved the quaint outdoor setting. Only problem was all the flies which they couldn't help but affected our meal. The cornbread was heavenly though.

Still making the most delicious Eastern North Carolina pork BBQ. The beans are a very tasty side dish. My only complaint is that they do not open up early enough. I wanted BBQ at 10:30am. :) If only that smell could be bottled and brought home. :)

We stopped here for a quick bite mid-day initially drawn in by the strong smell of bacon. Turns out those were the pork butts smoking. We shared a pulled pork meal, with baked beams, coleslaw and cornbread. The pork was delicious, once we'd added some sauce. Otherwise, I didn't think it had much taste, although it was very tender. The... More

We always stop at the bookstore by the lighthouse and see this shack. We decided to bring some ribs back for dinner and got some baked beans. While I am not a big fan of NC style (vinegar) more a KC (sweet) fan the sauce was good. The ribs had a great rub and were fall off the bone tender.... More

We came on a Monday evening to sample the food we had heard so much about. First of all, it's just a shack...no indoor seating. No big deal. We knew that going in. The kicker is that they were out of chicken. Out. Of. Chicken. The bearded guy behind the counter didn't seem apologetic in the least, despite the fact... More

Many people may get turned off by the Carolina Vinegar Sauce...too bad, more for me. As a BBQ enthusiast I love all types of 'que. Corolla BBQ is a great find, friendly, clean and reasonably priced with great food. The only thing I would want is a greater variety of sides...but the ones we had were good. I'm not a... More
