Still making the most delicious Eastern North Carolina pork BBQ. The beans are a very tasty side dish. My only complaint is that they do not open up early enough. I wanted BBQ at 10:30am. :) If only that smell could be bottled and brought home. :)

We stopped here for a quick bite mid-day initially drawn in by the strong smell of bacon. Turns out those were the pork butts smoking. We shared a pulled pork meal, with baked beams, coleslaw and cornbread. The pork was delicious, once we'd added some sauce. Otherwise, I didn't think it had much taste, although it was very tender. The... More

We always stop at the bookstore by the lighthouse and see this shack. We decided to bring some ribs back for dinner and got some baked beans. While I am not a big fan of NC style (vinegar) more a KC (sweet) fan the sauce was good. The ribs had a great rub and were fall off the bone tender.... More

We came on a Monday evening to sample the food we had heard so much about. First of all, it's just a shack...no indoor seating. No big deal. We knew that going in. The kicker is that they were out of chicken. Out. Of. Chicken. The bearded guy behind the counter didn't seem apologetic in the least, despite the fact... More

Many people may get turned off by the Carolina Vinegar Sauce...too bad, more for me. As a BBQ enthusiast I love all types of 'que. Corolla BBQ is a great find, friendly, clean and reasonably priced with great food. The only thing I would want is a greater variety of sides...but the ones we had were good. I'm not a... More

It's literally a shack but don't let that fool you. The food is of very good quality, the people are nice, service is quick, and everything is reasonably priced. Don't miss the sauces (either traditional vinegar or slightly sweeter red), chopped pork, ribs, cornbread, and baked beans. The chicken was only so-so. It was seasoned well (even moreso when dipped... More

Did a sampler with the family, as we all ordered different items. The chicken was tender, juicy, and had great flavor, The ribs are some of the best I have eaten, great texture, excellent flavor, and not over sauced. The pulled pork was moist, and had good flavor. I usually like mine a bit more smoky. Our favorite sides were:... More

First, please note that our crowd is hard to please... we take the quality of our food very seriously...That being said, we loved Corolla Village BBQ.. I will say that as I unpacked the takeout in front of a starving crowd, there was skepticism...but with one bite and the room went quiet...On this night, the pulled pork was moist and... More

We went here after reading all the great reviews, but coming from central NC, we were disappointed. Nothing special really, we've had much better. The pulled pork was dry and cornbread was cold. Beans were good though. Overall, I would not go again.
