Really enjoy this restaurant. Seems family owned. Great service. Grits are awesome. The sanitary rating sometimes is lower than most would like. That does not take away from the quality of food and great servers. Eating here has never disappointed our family.

I have been here a few times over the years when I come down to visit friends. It has always been good food at a good price. This time it was a busy Sunday morning. They didn't appear to have any silver ware. No one at the table got a knife. We only received forks after our food was brought... More

If you want a yummy and reasonably priced breakfast or lunch, this is the place. Nothing fancy, but good food and service. If you can save room, try the cobbler with ice cream.

I stopped here on my way thru town. It was a slow Saturday night. Not many in the restaurant. I ordered the open face turkey. It came very quick and I know why. They must have been in a hurry. The gravy was cold and had a funky flavor. The mashed potatoes were cold. Service was a little lacking. I... More

I have been here on many occasions. Before I get to the food part let me say that the woman whom I assume owns or manages it isn't overly friendly so you won't get a warm welcome. Its been that way every time we visit. For a place that serves country cooking, you would expect a nice welcome. One thing... More

Stopping for the night on our way home from Florida, we were directed to the Cookhouse by the clerk at the nearby EconoLodge. She did not steer us wrong. The Cookhouse was part of a plaza, but had its own building. It's close to I-77, but not on the main exit road but a right at the first stop light... More

If you're looking for good ol' home cooking-here's the place! I love the fried chicken, fried squash & okra the best! The place really needs to be remodeled though. You can feel the springs in most of the booth seats. Service is usually great too.

We've been here multiple times for breakfast. You'll get plenty to eat. The atmosphere is nothing spectacular but it's clean and has plenty of seating. The staff are all very friendly. Good, down home cooking and it always tastes good. Can't go wrong if you're looking for a good breakfast without all the bells and whistles.

I am not sure how this restaurant is ranked at #22??? I went 2 times, and both times we had the worst food! If I owned it, I would not send food like that out to any one! Terrible and very dirty.

We went there hearing it was a good place for breakfast, what we heard was right. Very good food, plenty of it, for a very reasonable price. Wait staff were very helpful and courteous. Why go to a fast food place when this is actually cheaper. Without a doubt, we would go back.
