This place is an old mom & pop place--one of the originals in Cornelius. It's perfect for that breakfast you love....you know the one! Eggs, grits, corned beef hash (crispy!), biscuits, waffles, etc....my husband had eggs and pork chops and the eggs were cooked just right and 2 fat pork chops were sooo juicy! Our server was so friendly and... More

Been going to Cookhouse for a number of years and it's very good for breakfast and a favorite with the locals. My favorite is the two pork chops with eggs, hashbrowns and whole wheat toast. Lunch and dinner on the other hand leave something to be desired and in general, tend to be overcooked. Never order Chicken Livers with Onions... More

We went to breakfast here and it was clean. The food was adequate, but not the best we have ever eaten. My pancakes were a bit on the bready side-and somewhat dry. The service as well was adequate, but on the "barely" leaning. The wait staff did not come by with refills and had to be called over to get... More

Good place to eat breakfast. This place seems to actor to the older crowd but food is good. I love the chicken and dumplings.

Friendly wait staff and hostess. So much food you could actually share. The spaghetti and meatballs are excellent.

Best meal for the money in many years. A simple menu but the food was prepared with care, made to order and served hot. The wait staff was attentive and very cordial. I will definitely eat there again in my next stay in Cornelius, NC.

Really enjoy this restaurant. Seems family owned. Great service. Grits are awesome. The sanitary rating sometimes is lower than most would like. That does not take away from the quality of food and great servers. Eating here has never disappointed our family.

I have been here a few times over the years when I come down to visit friends. It has always been good food at a good price. This time it was a busy Sunday morning. They didn't appear to have any silver ware. No one at the table got a knife. We only received forks after our food was brought... More

If you want a yummy and reasonably priced breakfast or lunch, this is the place. Nothing fancy, but good food and service. If you can save room, try the cobbler with ice cream.

I stopped here on my way thru town. It was a slow Saturday night. Not many in the restaurant. I ordered the open face turkey. It came very quick and I know why. They must have been in a hurry. The gravy was cold and had a funky flavor. The mashed potatoes were cold. Service was a little lacking. I... More
