Great Atmosphere and Great Fish and Chips!

We went to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday although we did not let them know. Nice Irish pub with a boat (hooker) hanging from the ceiling. We had the Calamari for an appetizer. I had the tomato basil soup and my wife had a Caesar Salad. For our main entree we both had the fish and chips... read more

We've dined at Galway Hooker several times and enjoyed all the food and most of the service. It's a great looking place, nice atmosphere inside. Not too loud, not too quiet IMO. Perhaps a more unusual menu for an Irish Pub than one might expect (menu currently includes Jamaican inspired dishes among others), but they do have Shepard's Pie and... More

The pub was built in Dublin, Ireland and shipped by boat to Charleston, SC. Then trucked to Lake Norman, Cornelius, NC and assembled. You have outside seating, seating with an arbor covering it and inside seating. The choices have a pleasant, friendly feeling. The menu includes the usual pub offerings like fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage, but there... More

The atmosphere, especially the outside seating, is wonderful. The service is always solid. The food is incredible. The corned beef and cabbage is amazing. I mean the kind of meal that you wake up craving. Our young kids love the place also. I honestly looked at this place for a long time as just a bar. I recently discovered that... More

Waiter was thoughtless and careless. We asked for water. His on-the-fly style resulted in one glass of ice water for me which I shared w/husband. Appetizers, salad and entree served all at once although several items were missing like blue cheese dip for buffalo shrimp. Had to ask for these. Our requests were met by blank stare. Then, "oh, yeah.... More

My fiancé and I drove by and the place looked like a good authentic Irish pub, so we decided to drop in for an early dinner. Best choice we've ever made! I had the corned beef and cabbage-excellent! My fiancé had the beef medallions-even better! But the best part of our whole meal might have been the sweet potato fries... More

My family and I went here on a vacation to Lake Norman. There was no wait around 630 and seemed to be a delightful restaurant. I was wrong, many of the waitress were talking about customers from what we could hear and was not a professional restaurant. When trying to get our waitress or other staff members for refills, we... Great service, good selection of food including traditional Irish fare (Bangers, Shepard's Pie, Corned Beef & Cabbage, Etc.) Lucked out by visiting on $ .50 wing night. Ordered way too many but enjoyed the selection nonetheless. The waitstaff was attentive, friendly and knowlegeable of the area also. Smiling faces are always welcomed at the end of a long travel day.... More
