Down home casual eatery!

Came across this place when I took a wrong turn off the highway. Saw it driving down the main street of town and decided to try it out. What a great surprise to find it was a small town cafe with excellent food. I enjoyed the best fried chicken livers I've had in a long while. The catfish would... read more

We've eaten here a few times, the food is good and very reasonably priced. Good size portions for the price, lunch for two was around $13. We will be back again.

food was terrible-dumplings were the size of peas and had no flavor-there were flies everywhere and the waitresses didn't seem to care. Not a good experience.

My husband and I were wanting some down-home cooking and we rode around for some time and mostly found fast food places. So we decided to go back out to the Interstate and on the way we saw this little place to eat and decided to give it a try. Well we were looking for some pinto beans and slaw... More

If you like good ole country cooking then you need to try this place. Always has a good crowd. Staff friendly, service good and food OK.

Having lived in Atlanta and eaten at the Varsity regularly, I was craving a chili slaw dog plate when I first came to Calvert's Kitchen. Assuming the waitress didn't know what that southern delicacy was, I spelled out the construction method with mustard on the bottom and off she went. A friendly gentleman in a baseball cap delivered the two... More

Calvert's offers some of the best home-cooking in the area. The menu has a good variety with sandwiches, salads, and dinners, with several specials available each day. The atmosphere is casually comfortable, a good place to meet and catch up with friends or have a good home-cooked meal!

I enjoyed eating at Calvert's and would return. It's spacious and clean with high ceilings and 17 ceiling fans for added comfort. The staff was friendly but the waitress did not bring the specials to my attention. They do have a 'specials' board on the wall offering free iced tea with any special when paying with cash. The tea was... More
