Better than Average Home-style Buffet

We have visited this restaurant several times since moving to the area 4 years ago. The atmosphere is inviting, clean, and friendly. I found the food surprisingly good and well seasoned. We stopped by while traveling in the area hoping to have a light lunch and be on our way. Once in we saw they had a buffet that looked really good so we decided to give it a try. Delicious food and a big variety to pick from. Our light meal turned into a filling meal that lasted the rest... More

I have to admit that I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant. I love southern food and I love buffets, so it must be a great place to eat, right? I didn't particularly care for it. I felt like the quality of the food was subpar, it wasn't seasoned very well and most of the food was bland.... More

My husband and I recently went to McCalls. We were not overly impressed though we wouldn't say it was bad. The place was clean and the service was good. The soup bar had two choices which were both pretty bland and tasteless. The salad bar was not too shabby with some good choices, and the salad looked fresh. As far... More

Arrived at just before 3pm on Friday. They had almost completed the change over from the lunch buffet. Tried the baked fish, fried shrimp, bbq, as well as several of the green veggies - all tasted great however it was average as a buffet. The wait staff was friendly and Very attentive to the refills. The Friday/Saturday Buffet cost $13.79... More

Some of the food such as the fried chicken, is very good. The vegetables on the other hand seem to taste pretty much as though they were all cooked together. The Prime Rib? is also good.

some of every food you could want, good homemade soups, I like the potato bacon, food turnover good, keeps all hot. dessert of cornbread cake with a little vanilla ice cream is the best. Enjoy the fish, better than cooking at home

The main event is the shreaded pork, cooked tender, not greasy, moist. Complete salad bar with everything you expect. Desert bar with several types of cobbler, several puddings, some blonde brownie crumble stuff with walnuts in it was great. I wish I had tried more things, on a business lunch so I couldn't dwell too long or bust a gut.... More

My daughter just recently moved to the Clayton area and she took us to McCall's BBQ for dinner on a Saturday night. The parking lot was completely full and I take that as a good sign. Upon entering we were promptly and warmly greeted and taken to our table. Our server was there instantly taking our drink order, explaining their... More
